Behind the scenes in a writers ✍🏼 life
Being a writer comes with a few great many beloved hobbies. As an author who is quite fond of paper and pen, despite living in this largely digital world, I happen to cultivate a healthy love of fountain pens, inks and journals with high quality Japanese paper.
I’m a lover on a Hobonichi paper ie ultra-thin, lightweight Tomoe River paper (52gsm). I have been using a Hobonichi for 10 years now and I love it more and more with each year.
Midori MD notebooks and paper is also an excellent choice. They are a cult favourite for a reason.
I’m extremely particular about nib size and paper quality. I need high contrasting inks for better visibility on the page. And I’m very particular about the inks I use in my fountain pens 🖋️
However with this beloved hobby, I’m often left with the ink stained hands, shimmer clogged nibs (today’s little adventure) and this acute awareness that it is indeed Hobonichi season.
