Welcome to the George Town Child and Family Centre at the Community Hub, including services for Child and Family Centre, Library Tasmania, Service Tasmania, and Child Health and Parenting. The George Town Child and Family Centre provides a range of activities and services for families throughout pregnancy and supporting through the important first five years. The Child and Family Centre is for ALL

families in the community and provides a space where

-Families with young children can meet and connect
-Young children can learn and grow with quality Early Learning programs
-Parents can build their parenting skills and knowledge
-Children with additional developmental needs can access supports. Programs at the Centre include:

At Wellbeing Wednesday today we filled our tummies with two different types of pasta, both utilising veggies that are available to families from the loaves and fishes stand. The pasta with roasted capsicum sauce was a particular hit and something that lots of people had never tried before. We also filled our “emotional jugs” with lots of time spent chatting, connecting, and just enjoying the company and community of our CFLC.

Recipes for our pasta, and for the French onion soup we made last week, will be available at the Loaves and Fishes stand so you can fill your bag with ingredients and try these dishes out at home.

Ruth and Chev had a great time with little people and their grown ups, singing, playing, and exploring at Play and Learn. Every Tuesday at 10am, Play and Learn is a special program that focuses on building children’s language and communication skills through play.

We had a little bit of help from everyone today to prepare for Wellbeing Wednesday. Little and big hands made us a yummy chicken and crispy rice salad with fresh made bao buns, and a choice of satay or Asian salad dressing. A lovely time spent working together, eating together, and chatting together to help “fill our jugs”. What an amazing community we have at the CFLC!

Join us today for a big and busy Wednesday!

⭐️We’ve had a great Loaves and Fished delivery today - please byo bags today as there are only a couple left in the veggie stand.

⭐️Wellbeing Wednesday - come and fill you jug and your tummy while having a chat with Social Worker Jack and Speechie Vivien. Yummy chicken and crunchy rice salad is on the menu today. If you’d like to take home leftovers, please bring a container if possible.
