Your child loves jumping? Spinning? Running? Climbing? Crashing into cushions approximately 47 times in a row?
Perfect. Start there.
We don’t always need to introduce new play to build new skills. Sometimes we can take the movement a child already loves and make one tiny change.
Love jumping? → Jump to different spots, copy a jump, or take turns.
Love running? → Ready, set… GO! Add stopping, waiting, chasing or changing direction.
Love crashing? → Build a cushion pile together, choose where to land, or add “1, 2, 3… CRASH!”
Love spinning? → Spin together, pause for “more?”, or add a silly action when you stop.
Same motivation.
Same connection.
Same kind of play they already enjoy.
Just one small variation that creates another opportunity to communicate, connect, notice someone else, solve a problem or learn something new.
You don’t need to turn play into a lesson.
Join what they already love, then gently expand it.
Same play. New way. 💛
