Back from CC26… and wow, what a weekend it was. 🧡
Over the last few days I had the opportunity to learn from some incredible clinicians from Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and the UK through lectures, live demonstrations and hands-on workshops. We covered topics ranging from facial anatomy and patient safety to skin health, treatment planning and refining injection techniques.
I came home with pages of notes, heaps of ideas, and plenty to reflect on.
One of the speakers, Dr Ania Smialkowski, said something over the weekend that has really stayed with me:
“I may not save lives anymore, but I change lives.”
Coming from a PICU background, that really resonated with me. Cosmetic nursing is very different to intensive care, but being able to make a positive difference in someone’s confidence and wellbeing is something I don’t take for granted.
This was actually my first cosmetic conference, and I’m so glad I decided to go. I pushed myself to get involved, asked lots of questions, joined in the discussions, and even ended up being recognised during the conference for my engagement. It reminded me that sometimes the best thing you can do is be curious, ask questions and get involved.
I also loved meeting and chatting with so many passionate clinicians. It’s always refreshing to be surrounded by people who genuinely love what they do and who are committed to continually learning and improving.
A huge thank you to the team, all of the speakers, and everyone involved in making CC26 such an incredible weekend.
Now it’s time to bring everything I’ve learnt back to Gladstone and into the clinic. See you soon.
