Your menstrual health is worth paying attention to 💛

Many people experience changes throughout their menstrual cycle, but sometimes it can be difficult to know what is part of your usual experience and what may be worth discussing.

Things like changes to your cycle, heavier bleeding, period pain that impacts your day-to-day life, or symptoms that affect your sleep, work, exercise or wellbeing are all experiences that may be worth starting a conversation about.

There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to menstrual health. Understanding what is normal for you can help you recognise when something has changed.

If you're a tradie and you've noticed pain around the outside of your elbow, you're not alone.

Repetitive gripping and using vibration tools like drills, reciprocating saws, impact drivers and screwdrivers can place repeated stress through the muscles and tendons around the elbow. Over time, this can become painful and make everyday tasks more difficult.

Here are two strategies that may help:

✔️ 1. Adjust your workload, then build back up gradually.
If symptoms have flared up, reducing the activities that aggravate your elbow and gradually increasing your workload may help. Everyone's situation is different, so it's worth booking in for an assessment to discuss the most appropriate plan for you.

✔️ 2. Consider an elbow brace.
A tennis elbow brace may help reduce strain on the affected area during certain activities. In this video, we'll show you where to position it for the best fit.

If elbow pain is stopping you from getting through your workday comfortably, an assessment can help identify what's contributing to your symptoms and discuss management options suited to your needs.

Strength training isn’t just about lifting heavier weights.

It’s about building a body that supports you for decades to come.

After 40, our bodies naturally begin to change. Muscle mass declines, bone density starts to reduce, and recovery can take a little longer.

The good news?

Strength training is one of the most evidence-based ways to support healthy ageing.

✨ Maintain muscle and metabolism
🦴 Improve bone health
❤️ Support balance, confidence and resilience

It’s never too late to start.

Your future self will thank you.

Your osteopathy appointment is just one part of your health journey. 💙

While your appointment provides an opportunity to assess, treat, and understand what may be contributing to your concerns, the things you do outside of the clinic can also play an important role in your overall progress.

A few simple things to keep in mind:

💧 Stay hydrated
Hydration supports your body’s normal processes, including energy levels, concentration, and physical performance. Keeping your body well-fuelled can help you get the most out of your day and your movement.

📋 Follow your personalised advice
Your practitioner’s recommendations are designed specifically around your goals, your current capacity, and what matters most to you. Whether it’s exercises, movement strategies, or small lifestyle changes, consistency can be an important part of building confidence and progress over time.

👀 Pay attention to your body
Your body provides valuable feedback. Noticing changes in your symptoms, movement, energy levels, or how you respond to activities can help you and your practitioner make informed decisions about your care.

Health isn’t built from one appointment — it’s the combination of the support you receive in the clinic and the habits, movements, and choices you make every day.

Your care plan is unique to you, and your practitioner is here to support you throughout each step of your health journey. 💙

Perimenopause isn't just about hot flushes.

For many women, the transition can begin several years before menopause and may involve a range of changes that are not always widely recognised.

Some experiences can include:
✨ Changes to sleep
✨ Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
✨ Feeling more sensitive to stress
✨ Changes in body composition
✨ Joint or muscle aches
✨ Feeling like your usual resilience has changed

These experiences can have many possible causes, and symptoms vary from person to person. Understanding the changes that can occur during perimenopause can help women have informed conversations with their healthcare providers and make decisions that are right for them.

Learning more about this stage of life is an important step towards feeling informed and supported.

❄️ Feeling stiffer now that winter has arrived? You're not alone.

Many people notice their muscles and joints feel a little less comfortable during the colder months. Often, it's not the cold itself causing the problem—it's the combination of cooler temperatures, spending more time indoors, and moving less throughout the day.

Simple habits like taking regular movement breaks, warming up before exercise, and staying active can help your body feel more comfortable during winter.

If stiffness is persistent, worsening, or affecting your daily activities, it may be worth speaking with a qualified healthcare professional to determine what's contributing to your symptoms.

Have you noticed your body feels different in winter? Let us know in the comments! 👇
