COULD HISTAMINE BE THE HIDDEN REASON YOUR SKIN IS TRYING TO GET YOUR ATTENTION?
Have you ever wondered why your skin suddenly becomes itchy, flushed, reactive or inflamed—even though you've changed nothing?
Many people think histamine is only involved in hay fever or seasonal allergies, but it can also influence your skin, digestion, sinuses, sleep and even the way you feel day to day. Histamine is an important part of the body's defence system, but when the balance is disrupted, your skin may be one of the first places to show it.
You might notice:
• Persistent itching
• Eczema flare-ups
• Redness or flushing
• Acne that won't settle
• Hives or unexplained rashes
• Sensitive skin that reacts to products you've always used
As a naturopath and skin therapist, I've learnt that healthy skin is rarely just about the creams we apply. Your gut, hormones, immune system, nutrition, stress, inflammation and histamine response may all be contributing to the picture.
Rather than simply asking, "What can I put on my skin?" I like to ask, "Why is my skin asking for help?"
Sometimes that single question changes everything.
If this sounds familiar, I've written a blog exploring histamine, your skin and why looking beneath the surface can be so valuable.
I'd love you to have a read.
If you'd like help understanding what your own skin may be trying to tell you, my Under the Skin Consultation is designed to look beyond the surface and explore the bigger picture.
