2026.2 Employment Contracts & NTCER Finalisation
Hi Everyone,

We are currently in the process of finalising the 2026.2 Employment Contracts. We wanted to provide a quick update on their availability and how to proceed in the meantime.

The 2026.2 templates are not yet live on our portal as we are waiting for the NTCER to be fully finalised. Once that is settled, we will be performing minor tweaks to the internal clauses to ensure they align perfectly with the updated contract structure.

Please note: The fundamental terms and conditions have not changed. The updates are purely administrative to ensure the clauses match the contract accurately.

In the meantime, you can:

Continue to use the 2026.1 employment contracts when sending out Letters of Offer.
This is especially helpful for GPT1s who need to review the document structure.
If you send out the 2026.1 version now, please include the following note:
"The formal 2026.2 contract is currently being finalised to ensure all clause references are up to date. The official version will be sent to you for signing once it is uploaded to our portal."

We appreciate your patience while we ensure these documents are 100% accurate before release. We will notify you the moment they are available!

As one of the 100 who has gone through the training, I would make these comments:
1. We are only going to be able to initiate medications in children who are 8 or above.
2. Before this training, around 40% of my work was managing in adults, all of whom had been diagnosed by telehealth providers (predominantly self referred, with a diagnosis rate of near 100%) with no initial prescription or follow up, or by psychologists, who had advocated for medications despite having no legal experience or standing in prescribing.

My thoughts on :

is a novel explanatory model for a constellation of symptoms that have previously been treated in other ways, or not at all.

Like any other explanatory model, it needs to stand up and provide better outcomes or it will be discarded.

At the risk of oversimplification:
– pills don’t teach skills
– if this diagnosis is made, there are many non-drug therapies that should be used in series or parallel or before/instead of medications
– there is no epidemic of stimulant deficiency
– nothing is all good or all bad

Paediatricians, Psychiatrists, and Psychologists have not covered themselves in glory in regard to ADHD. I look forward to paediatricians getting back to dealing with complex cases, not just being consulted for a script; psychiatrists getting back to actually seeing and managing patients; and psychologists doing the important job of providing coaching and psychological therapies rather than opining on, or angling for a go at, prescribing.

I would further say that anything coming from the on is going to be discounted based on their current horrific governance car crash.

Meanwhile, for those who want to have a consultation:

The Australian GP Alliance represents the interests of GP Practice Owners, addressing issues faced by Principal led General Practices.

The Australian model of GP owned private general practice has been responsible for our international reputation as an efficient and highly effective primary health care service.

The continuation of high quality primary healthcare in Australia is dependent on the continued viability of the Practices that provide the leadership and infrastructure that allows GPs to practice, and patients to access the healthcare system.

Join us to advocate to keep Practices viable, thriving and in the hands of GPs.

Welcome to the Australia Day long weekend!

I'm very grateful to Australia since coming here in 1991 and proudly becoming a citizen 5 years later. Australia has been amazing for me and my family and it's a welcoming land of opportunity.

Thank you Australia and Happy Australia Day!
