We’re excited to welcome our new Physiotherapist, Richie Kumarage from Flex Pulse Physio! 💙

Richie will be consulting at Glenorie District Medical Centre from September 1.

With a strong focus on musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Richie has experience in assessing and managing neck, back and shoulder pain, sporting injuries, joint and muscle conditions, headaches associated with the neck, and persistent pain.

His personalised approach combines hands-on treatment, exercise and rehabilitation, movement retraining and education to help patients get back to the activities, work and lifestyle they enjoy.

This week, we’re celebrating the important role speech pathologists play in helping people communicate, connect and participate. 💙

The 2026 theme is “Communication creates possibility.”

💡 Did you know? More than 1.2 million Australians have communication or swallowing needs.

👧 M10 Medicare support: Some children and young people may be eligible for Medicare-supported speech pathology services, including up to 8 assessment and 20 treatment sessions, subject to eligibility and referral requirements.

Protecting yourself against pneumococcal disease 🩺

Pneumococcal disease is a serious bacterial infection that can have severe implications on one's health. While anyone can catch it, the risk of serious illness increases significantly for older adults, young young children, and individuals with certain chronic medical conditions.
