Your cycle is actually giving you quite specific information about what’s happening hormonally, well before fertility becomes the focus. The length of the luteal phase, the way temperature shifts after ovulation, changes in cervical mucus, spotting before a period arrives. Each of those patterns points to something the body is doing, and when they shift, it usually means something has shifted underneath too.

If you’re constantly low in iron, it might have more to do with your gut than you’d think 🦠
There’s some really interesting research coming out on Lactobacillus plantarum, a gut bacteria that seems to play a role in how well you actually absorb iron. And what’s been interesting in clinic is how often I see this exact strain show up as deficient on microbiome testing in clients who can’t get their iron levels to budge.

So if you’ve been taking iron for months and your levels still aren’t moving, it’s worth looking a bit deeper. Throwing more supplements at the problem doesn’t always solve it.

Your liver is actually one of the most important organs when it comes to hormonal health. It’s responsible for breaking down and clearing excess oestrogen from your body, and when it’s sluggish or overloaded, that oestrogen can recirculate instead of being cleared out. That’s when you start noticing things like heavy periods, breasts tenderness, mood swings, and bloating that seems to get worse in the second half of your cycle. Supporting your liver through nutrition and lifestyle is one of the first things we look at in clinic when hormonal symptoms are pointing towards oestrogen dominance.

Hi, I’m Hannah. I’m a Naturopath with a Masters in Reproductive Medicine, and women’s health is at the heart of everything I do.
A lot of what I see in clinic comes back to the same story. Women who know something isn’t right, but keep being told their blood tests are “normal.” I specialise in all things hormones, fertility, periods, pregnancy and postpartum because when these areas are out of balance, you feel it in everything. They’re too important to be brushed aside or reduced to a quick glance at lab numbers.
My approach is simple. I use bloodwork, functional testing, a personalised diet, and lifestyle support to get to the root of what’s going on. I’d much rather help you fix the cause than have you relying on supplements forever. And when I look at your results, I’m not just checking if you’re in range. I want to see you in the range that supports your full health potential.
If you’re exhausted, your cycle is unpredictable, or the week before your period feels like an emotional rollercoaster, there’s usually a reason, and it’s worth exploring.
Helping women feel like themselves again is my favourite part of what I do.
I work online, so wherever you are in Australia, we can do this from the comfort of your own home.
If it feels like the right time to explore your health, reach out. I’m here to talk it through with you.

Freddie and Sarah from have created something really special for us here on our property — a jumbo food production system that we are beyond grateful for. It’s more than just a garden; it’s a living ecosystem with over 300 different plants, all carefully chosen and planted with the vision of feeding our family for years to come. Every corner of it has been designed with thought and purpose, and already we can see how it’s transforming the space into something vibrant and alive.

What’s amazing is that a setup like this doesn’t have to be huge to make a big impact. Whether you’ve got a backyard, a small patch of lawn, or even just a bit of space around your home, working with Freddie and Sarah can help you start producing more of your own food. They design systems that suit the space you have, so it’s not about size — it’s about creating something sustainable, productive, and in tune with nature.

One of the best parts is how good it feels to be out in the garden every day, watching the plants take root and grow, and noticing the birds and other wildlife starting to integrate.

We feel so lucky to be starting this journey and can’t recommend enough if you’ve been thinking about growing more of your own food or creating a more self-sufficient lifestyle. It’s honestly one of the most rewarding things you can do for yourself, your family, and the land you live on.
