🌻WOMEN'S DEPRESSION RISK increases during major hormonal transitions such as puberty, the postnatal period, perimenopause and menopause.

Depression exists on a spectrum and involves a cluster of emotional, behavioural and physiological symptoms.

Persistent low mood, sadness or irritability, low energy levels, sleep disturbances, changes in appetite, difficulty concentrating, body aches and pains, loss of interest, feeling hopeless, and social withdrawal can be experienced to various degrees.

Depression is not solely a mental health condition, underlying contributors may include hormonal fluctuations, neuroinflammation, microbiome imbalances, nutritional deficiencies and other biological, environmental and social factors.

I consulted with Grace in December 2025 to assist my health goals.
Grace allows enough time to get to know your medical history and emotional background.
I found Grace very thorough, sensitive and caring as she investigates root cause and analyses your case. She also examines any past blood tests to reveal subtle discrepancies that are often overlooked in busy mainstream practice.

Her ability to notice the finer details of your overall health presentation is highly developed. Grace is intuitive and understanding of the emotional elements affecting well being and implements a comprehensive treatment plan. Her prescription of supplements is carefully selected and thoroughly discussed, with truly valuable explanations and insights.

I highly recommend Grace for naturopathic and functional medicine. Sandra Roberts

WHO SHOULD YOU TRUST WITH YOUR HEALTH?🌿

🤔In an era where information is more accessible than ever, it is worth pausing to reflect on how easily misinformation can spread.

After several years of education, rigorous training, and clinical practice in Naturopathic and Functional Nutritional Medicine,
I have developed a deep respect for the responsibility that comes with offering health guidance.

From this perspective, I am deeply concerned about the growing volume of natural health advice shared online by individuals without formal training in natural medicine.

I understand that many people share advice with good intentions, hoping to help or to share what has worked for them.

However, most health concerns requires the clinical experience, and professional accountability to assess and to deliver safe and effective treatments.

More concerning is how readily such advice is accepted, while the expert guidance of qualified practitioners is often overlooked or dismissed.

A common trend is people posting symptoms or photos in online platforms and asking, “Does anyone know what this could be, or what I should take?"

What follows is often a stream of opinions, suggestions, diagnoses, and protocols offered with no training, expertise or case-relevance.

🚩Imagine calling a plumber to fix a serious electrical fault simply because the plumber once changed a light bulb!
As absurd as it seems, this analogy illustrates this behaviour.

🚩Confidence does not equal qualification and following unqualified guidance can have serious health consequences.

🚩Symptoms that seem mild may indicate more serious underlying conditions.

🚩Delayed or inaccurate interpretation can postpone appropriate assessment and care.

🚩Dietary restrictions, detox protocols, herbal combinations, and supplements are often recommended without consideration of safety, interactions, or individual needs.

🚩While natural therapies can be supportive, “natural” does not automatically mean risk-free. Incorrect dosing or inappropriate use may lead to interactions, adverse reactions, reduced effectiveness, or even toxicity.

🌿For those who value natural, holistic, or integrative healthcare, seeking guidance from degree-qualified naturopathic practitioners or accredited nutritionists ensures you get safe and effective care.

🌿Degree-qualified practitioners are members of reputable industry associations that uphold ongoing education, ethical standards and clinical competence.

🚩Be mindful of individuals who pretend to be qualified, and please know there are levels of education and expertise,
a diploma is a less specialised course than a full degree.

In summary,

🌿Health advice is a responsibility shaped by years of education, training, and clinical experience.
Just as no single approach works for everyone, what benefits one person may not be approriate or safe for another.

🌿Your health is your wealth and deserves the expert guidance of practitioners who understand the complexity and interconnectedness of the whole human body.

💚HEALTH IS MORE THAN THE ABSENCE OF DISEASE

HEALTH is a dynamic state of physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being that allows a person to adapt, function, and thrive across changing life circumstances.

HEALTH is mantained by the body's internal balance, this referred as "HOMEOSTASIS" or the body's innate ability to self‑regulate and maintain stable internal conditions such as blood glucose levels, blood pressure, temperature, hormones, immune function, and nervous system response despite external stressors.

When the body is in a state of COHERENCE, all systems communicate efficiently, working together rather than in isolation. This alignment supports vitality, resilience, emotional stability, and general wellbeing.
Even subtle loss of coherence gradually leads to imbalances and later the development of disease.

FOUNDATIONS FOR HEALTH:

DIET– the quality of nutrition that fuels cellular and metabolic function.
LIFESTYLE – daily habits such as sleep, movement, stressors, and routines that regulate bodily functions.
EMOTIONS – emotional awareness, processing, and regulation that strongly influence neurotransmitters and hormones.
ENVIRONMENT – chemicals and sensory surroundings that impact adaptability.
CONNECTIONS – relationships, community and social support, and a sense of belonging are essential for emotional and physiological regulation.

Each person’s biochemistry, experiences, stressors, and environment shape their unique health patterns. These nuances explain why the same approach does not work for everyone and why true health requires personalised understanding rather than a one-size-fits-all model.

Ultimately, health coherence emerged when the foundations for health are balanced and adapted to the individual, allowing the body to function as an integrated system💚

HONOURING and SUPPORTING the PERIMENOPAUSE & MENOPAUSE TRANSITION🌻🌿

Perimenopause and menopause are natural transitions in women physiology. From a functional medicine perspective, the quality of this transition is profoundly influenced by our nutritional status, metabolic health, stress adaptation, lifestyle choices and relationships.

Around early and mid forties progressive changes start to appear, this often extends to mid and late fifties. Menstrual cycles becoming shorter or increasingly irregular often signals the onset of perimenopause. At this stage, the production of the hormone progesterone typically declines earlier and more abruptly than oestrogen, creating a state of relative oestrogen dominance.

In the early Perimenopause stage ovulation becomes inconsistent and, in later stages ovulation becomes absent, resulting in anovulatory cycles, followed by absent menstrual cycles in the Menopause stage. These changes reflect normal reproductive cessation rather than biological dysfunction.

Perimenopause and Menopause are not phases to be resisted, or suppressed. Attempts to override a natural biological transition often exacerbate imbalances. Symptoms such as mood changes, fatigue, disrupted sleep, weight changes, cognitive shifts, and reduced stress tolerance often emerge at the intersection of hormonal fluctuations but are profoundly influenced by our general health.

THE SAD NEWS....
Nutritional deficiencies, thyroid and metabolic dysfunction, compromised gut health, chronic inflammation, and chronic psychosocial stress can significantly intensify symptoms during this transition.

THE HAPPY NEWS...
With a proper functional health assessment and personalised approach, this natural phase can be transitioned with clarity and confidence. Understanding our body’s evolving needs create the opportunity for adaptation, resilience, restoration and balance.

If you need guidance, support, and empowerment grounded in knowledge and extensive clinical experience, I am here to support you on this new chapter of your health journey 🌻🌿

CLIENT REVIEW🌿🌻
️️️
I first saw Grace back in 2023,
my twins were 2 years old at the time and I was seriously post-natal depleted. I was struggling to survive everyday with 4 children, I had zero energy. Grace listened and made me a bottle of herbal tonic, it was life changing for me. My energy returned and it was like life and happiness was injected back into my body. I cannot thank Grace enough for her helping me through this time and for going above and beyond to make house calls for me.
Grace was also able to help me with my poor thumb nail which I slammed into a car door 5 years ago. I went to see my gp and she said there was nothing they could do. After many years of extreme pain day to day from the split often getting caught on things and pulling down my nail bed I decided to ask if Grace if she could do anything…. And of course she was able to assist, my nail is now 70% better than it was and I think it might even fully heal back to normal. Unbelievable!!
Grace is an expert in her field and has helped my whole family. My son from the age of 8 months has suffered from eczema. I saw our doctor, a skin specialist and finally an immunologist who were all able only to offer a steroid cream and advice of diet restrictions. I did everything they said but he was still suffering, scratching through the night, in pain and it was heartbreaking. After speaking with Grace I was able to clear his eczema up completely! She is amazing!
Grace is an incredible practitioner, women and someone whom I now call my friend. I cannot recommend her enough!
Thank you Grace for all that you have done for us
