"Rock bottom" means something different to everyone.

For some, it's a single moment. For others, it's a feeling that builds quietly over time.

When Jen first spoke about her journey, that's how she described where she was.

Looking back, it's a reminder that recovery stories don't begin when everything is getting better.

They often begin in the moments when people are still trying to find their footing and imagine what comes next.

What if you never knew how you'd feel when you woke up tomorrow?

For many people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), that's part of everyday life.

Some days bring energy and independence. Other days, even simple tasks can feel overwhelming. The unpredictability of MS means plans often need to change, and that's okay.

A little understanding and flexibility can make it easier for people to keep doing the things that matter most.

Seila has been walking by the water again.

It might not look like much from the outside. For her it is significant. It is one of the things that dropped away after her diagnosis and has slowly come back.

Some progress looks like that.

Behaviour is communication.

Someone who will not get into the shower might be in pain. Someone who pushes a worker away might have had a bad experience they cannot explain. Someone who goes quiet might be overwhelmed.

The response changes completely when you start there.

The file says ABI.

Sam says he wants to get back to cooking his own meals, follow the cricket, and have the same person show up every week.

That is the brief that matters.

A stroke can change life in an instant, but recovery is rarely about getting back to exactly how things were before.

It's about adapting, rebuilding confidence, and finding new ways to do the things that matter most.

Progress doesn't have to be perfect to be meaningful.

Paul walked into the group and within ten minutes had everyone laughing.

He does that.

Some people just make a room better.

You can learn a lot about someone by looking at how they spend their week.

With Annette, there's a good chance you'll find a class she's looking forward to, an activity she's already signed up for, or somewhere she'd rather be than sitting still.

She genuinely enjoys being out in the community and making the most of every opportunity that comes her way.

That kind of enthusiasm is hard not to admire.

We all have that one habit that helps us reset for the week.

For Joel, it's about building a routine that supports balance and consistency.

No two people living with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) have the same experience.

For one person, it might mean relearning everyday tasks. For another, it could be rebuilding confidence, reconnecting with others, or finding new ways to do the things they love.

That's why it's so important to look beyond the diagnosis and get to know the individual. Everyone has their own story, strengths, and goals worth supporting.
