My journey into sound healing started about six years ago
I went to an ecstatic dance which was alcohol and drug-free and everyone was conscious passionate and fully clear and awake, freely exploring movement in a safe environment.
At the end of the evening a sound healer played and everyone lay down and absorbed the frequencies, it was a game changer for me.
Being in a room full of people able to go from high energy movement in free form ecstatic dance, to a deep relaxing sound healing, being fully present conscious and awake.
I realised that this is what I wanted to do, I wanted to play for people who were sober clear and absorbing every note, beat of the music and the experience.
After a lifetime of performing, pubs around the world, I realised that I wanted to play to a sober audience and create a space of transformation, through music.
The rave scene come and gone, a new music phenomenon fuelled by drugs and house music, and a new age was dawning, inspired by DJs musicians and sound healers.
I spent 6 years playing various events, learning what it is to be put on these evenings where people could feel transformation through music.
I was very lucky to be warmly embraced by the sound healing community and worked with many amazing sound healers on the Gold Coast.
I was also doing research into frequencies, brainwaves, trialing different forms of energy work, clearing, healing working with groups and one on one, using different modalities of transformation, teaching mediation and facilitating breath work using sound and energy.
In the back of my mind, I had a vision of what I wanted to create ultimately as an offering to this new wave of people enjoying these sacred evenings of movement and connection.
I wanted to draw on my years of Sitar playing and love for classical Indian music, as well as my other passion for multi-instruments.
And combine this into a new offering of live world instruments, with deep house beats.
World music with live multi instruments was my vision.
As spring approaches it’s a perfect time for launching new ideas, the groundwork is done, the seeds are planted and the time is right for growing nurturing and celebrating.
