Thursday 10th September 2020:

R U OK Day & World Su***de Prevention Day.

Now more than ever is the time not only to ask R U OK? but also LISTEN 👂🏼!

Whilst there is a widely acknowledged health pandemic occurring, of more concern is the growing mental health pandemic. Never before have we seen the number of new referrals or existing clients calling for more frequent appointment in the clinic as we have over the past few months. Social isolation, financial distress, limited job prospects and potential increase in exposure to DV environments on their own can be a cause of distress, but combine any of these together and it can feel unmanageable to even the strongest people around us.

Mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandparents, friends.... now is the time to ask how they are, listen, provide assistance to access support, and continue to check in! We owe it to each other 🙏🏽❤️

In the midst of what can feel right now like constant negative news swirling around, it’s important to try and find the positive we can still take out of each and every day (there will always be something!)

Instead of focusing on the thought of being “stuck inside” all weekend, focus on the self care, rest and quiet we can take from it (and often don’t get to have the chance to do).

Important Changes to services from Tuesday 31st March 2020:

New Medicare Telehealth items have been extended to allow all eligible Australians to access ongoing psychology support via telehealth services.

Effective from Tuesday 31st March 2020:

- All existing bookings will remain the same and will be confirmed via our regular methods. Our reception team or psychologists will contact you by phone either prior to or at the time of your appointment to discuss your preferred mode of contact (telephone or video call);

We will continue to have reception support available during usual business hours via phone and email to support you and answer any queries you have.
