Day 2 Today! What a lovely day yesterday. Thank you to every family, service provider, and fellow exhibitor who stopped by for a chat. So many great conversations about OT, sensory processing, and the role of occupational therapy in supporting children and families.

We are back today for the final day of the Expo. If you didn't make it yesterday, today is your chance to come and ask the questions you have been holding on to about OT and your child.

Camila and Toni prepared our fun Sensory Wall and Floor Tiles for the Expo, and they are out at the booth today. Here is the lovely thing about them. You don't need fancy equipment at home. You don't need to spend a fortune. We all know how it goes: you buy the most expensive toy on the shelf, and the kids end up in a giant cardboard box, captaining a pirate ship, blasting into space, or defending a fairytale castle.

That instinct children have, to climb, squeeze, push, press, and explore, is part of how they learn about their bodies and the world around them.

Sensory tiles tap into that. Different textures, different surfaces, different pressures. Children can run their hands across them, push their feet into them, lean into a wall and feel something firm pressing back.

What sensory tiles offer:
🧠 An opportunity to build body awareness through different textures under hands and feet.
🌿 A space for calm, quiet exploration. Many children enjoy firm, predictable touch.
✨ Something interesting to notice, which invites curiosity and engagement.
🀝 A shared moment. Sitting together, exploring tiles, chatting about what feels rough, smooth, bumpy, or cool.

You might use them as part of a quiet corner at home, a movement break during homework, or simply as a play space.

Come and have a feel for yourself. We are at the Expo today and tomorrow, and we would love to chat about paediatric occupational therapy too while you are there.

Day 1 is here! The Gold Coast Disability Expo is almost ready to start. Come and have a chat with our team today about paediatric occupational therapy: what an OT does, what to expect from a session, and how we work with families to support their child. The Sensory Nest and Tiles are set up too, so bring the kids along for a hands-on look while we chat.

We are heading to the Gold Coast Disability Expo this weekend, and we would love to see you there. Our team will be on hand to share information about paediatric occupational therapy. What it is, what an OT actually does day-to-day, what a session can look like, and how OTs work alongside families, schools, and other therapists to support a child's participation in everyday life.

We will also have our DIY Sensory Nest and Sensory Wall and Floor Tiles set up, so the little ones have something to explore while you chat with us. They are also a nice way in to a conversation about sensory processing and the role OT plays.

Whether you are just starting to look into OT, somewhere in the middle of the journey, or curious about what support is available, come and have a chat. No pressure, just information.

We will be at the Gold Coast Disability Expo this weekend, and we would love to see you there. Come and experience our DIY sensory nest and sensory panels, designed to help your sensory child find calm, focus, and a sense of safety in their own bodies. Bring your questions about sensory processing and paediatric occupational therapy.

The Expo brings together thousands of people with disability and hundreds of product and service providers under one roof, alongside informative and interactive presentations from across the industry. It is a chance to explore what is out there, ask the questions that matter to your family, and find the support that fits your child and your life. This year's theme, My Future, My Choice, aligns with what we believe at SenseUp Therapies. Every child and every family deserves to feel in control of how they want to live now and plan for what is ahead. We are looking forward to being part of a weekend that puts choice and possibility at the centre.

We can't wait to meet you.

Some of the most important work a child can do is learning to feel at home in their own body. That's what our July Yoga Group is built around. By combining yoga with the SenseUp Modelβ„’, we help children tune into themselves through balance, coordination, strength, motor planning and body awareness. These aren't just movement skills. They're the building blocks for attention, learning, and independence in everyday life.
There's another layer to this group that matters just as much. Doing yoga alongside other children, in a calm and supported space, builds genuine social connection. We keep our groups small and our staff ratio high so that every child has the support they need to stay regulated, feel safe, and actually engage. A child who feels safe is a child who can connect, and connection is where so much growth begins.

The details:
πŸ“… Thursday 2 July and Thursday 9 July 2026
⏱️ Time: To Be Confirmed
🧘 Groups: Ages 5 to 7 and Ages 8 to 11
πŸ“ 1 Resort Drive, Robina, 4226

These winter school holidays, we're heading outside. Our Nature Group brings small groups of children together to explore, create, and connect under the trees. There's a reason we use nature for this work. When children move through natural spaces, their bodies are doing far more than playing. They're building the sensory foundations that everyday participation depends on: attention, self-regulation, body awareness, and the capacity to connect with others. What you see on the surface is a child climbing, noticing, and making something with their hands. What's actually happening underneath is a nervous system learning to feel safe, organised, and ready to engage.

Using the SenseUp Modelβ„’, every activity is chosen with purpose:
🌿 Mindful Nature Exploration
🎨 Nature Arts & Crafts
πŸ“– Storytime Under the Trees

The details:
πŸ“… Tuesday 30 June and Tuesday 7 July
⏱️ 1.5 hours per group
πŸ‘§ Two groups: Ages 5 to 7 and Ages 8 to 10
πŸ“ 1 Resort Drive, Robina, 4226

Bring a water bottle, sun hat, and snacks!

Spots are limited because we keep our groups small on purpose.
Smaller groups mean every child gets the support they need to feel safe enough to join in.

After many little hands and feet have been through the practice, it was time for a bit of a clean-up and reset.

Step 1 is done. We've moved some cupboards to bring more natural light into our space and freshen up our Sensory Explorers area. The room feels brighter, calmer, and ready for the next round of explorers.

A well-loved space deserves a refresh every now and then, and a bright, settled environment is always a good thing for the children who use it. It is easier on a child's nervous system, which means more of their energy goes where it should: into play, connection, and discovery.

This is just the start. We've got more lovely changes coming as we go, so stay tuned.

We're making some changes at SenseUp Therapies. Over the coming weeks we'll be renovating the practice and reworking our set-up. The short version: we're building a better space for the children who come to see us.

The way a space is organised matters more than it might seem. The right environment helps a child's nervous system settle, which is what makes everything else, attention, engagement, play, possible. These changes are about getting that environment right.

We'll keep you posted as things take shape, and you don't have to worry; nothing will affect your OT sessions. It's therapy as usual at SenseUp Therapies!
