Gold Coast Hand Therapy

Gold Coast Hand Therapy We are a team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists who specialise in hand injuries

We are a team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists who specialise in treating finger, thumb, hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder injuries and conditions. As Hand Therapy Specialists on the Gold Coast, we are highly experienced at assessing injuries, fabrication of custom-made thermoplastic splints or orthoses (an alternative to fibreglass casting), providing conservative treatments for inju

ries and conditions, as well as post-surgery and wound care. We work closely with many Hand and Orthopaedic Surgeons, hospitals including Gold Coast Private Hospital and Pindara, as well as a wide network of GPs. We treat patients that are privately funded or those under WorkCover, DVA, NDIS or other independent insurers. All our therapists are members of the the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA). An Accredited Hand Therapist has been recognised by the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA) after years of clinical experience and further study after university. We have five clinics across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW:

In the spirit of International Dog Day, we thought we’d share a gentle reminder to our four-legged friends 🐾

Our custom-made splints are carefully designed to support your human’s recovery.... not to double as a new chew toy (now matter how attractive they look).

We understand the interest, but the best way to help their hand and upper limb recovery is by sticking to companionship and keeping them company during their recovery 🐕

A warm welcome to Emily Kimber, who has joined the Gold Coast Hand Therapy team at Biggera Waters!
Emily is a physiotherapist with experience in hospital care and rehabilitation, and she enjoys supporting people as they rebuild movement, strength and confidence after hand and upper limb injuries. Outside the clinic, you’ll often find Emily running, hiking, at the gym or enjoying the beach.

Big goals are often built on small daily habits ⭐

A few extra minutes of movement, staying on top of your exercises, or simply giving something another go can all make a difference over time.

At Gold Coast Hand Therapy, we know staying consistent isn't always easy. That's why we're here to support you through the ups and downs and help you keep working towards your goals 💪

Turns out our recent student has some pretty impressive connections!

A huge thank you to Miss Universe Australia and future hand therapy superstar for gifting us this signed Gold Coast Suns guernsey. ❤️💛

Needless to say, it's become a favourite around the clinic. We're keeping a close eye on anyone who looks a little too interested in taking it home 😅

From uncertain to back training

After 6+ weeks of doing very little following a finger injury, this patient was able to return to training the same day as their appointment.

How?
A thorough assessment helped guide what was safe, and a custom sports guard provided protection during activity.

Every injury and recovery is different—but having the right guidance can make a big difference in how and when you return to what you enjoy.
