Today we celebrate the energy, courage, ideas and potential of young people in our community and around the world! 🌏✨

At Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club, we’re proud to see our young members grow, challenge themselves, build friendships and develop skills that can last a lifetime. 🏄‍♀️🏄‍♂️

From our youngest Nippers learning about water safety and confidence in the ocean, through to our youth stepping up as volunteers, competitors, mentors, officials and lifesavers — our young people are both the future of our club and our community. ❤️💛

Today is about celebrating their voices, encouraging their dreams and giving them opportunities to make a difference.

That’s 30 preventable deaths every hour.

The things that prevent drowning aren't complicated…

⚠️ A warning

We just need more of them, in more places, for more people. 📉 When our actions add up, the stats come down.

Here at Coolangatta SLSC, we see firsthand how education, preparation and simple safety messages can save lives. Whether it's swimming between the red and yellow flags, checking beach conditions, supervising children around the water, or learning lifesaving skills through our programs, every small action helps make our beaches safer.

Together, we can all play a part in preventing drowning.

🌊 NAIDOC Week 2026 at Coolangatta SLSC 🌊

5–12 July 2026

This NAIDOC Week, we honour and celebrate the enduring cultures, knowledge and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and proudly acknowledge the Yugambeh people—the Traditional Custodians of the land and sea on which our Club stands.

This year's theme, 50 Years of Deadly, celebrates five decades of recognising the strength, resilience and contributions of First Nations peoples, while looking forward to the future.

We invite our members, guests and community to listen, learn, reflect and take part in NAIDOC Week 2026.

As we wrap up another patrol season, we want to thank every volunteer, member, athlete, official and supporter who made it possible.
