🚨 Important Notice for Hearing Aid & Cochlear Implant Users🚨

If you wear Bluetooth-enabled hearing aids or cochlear implants this is something you'll want to know.

On Monday, 27 July 2026 the Australian Government will conduct a nationwide test of the new AusAlert emergency warning system

🕑 Time:2:00 pm AEST (please check your local time if you're in a different Australian time zone).

During the test, compatible mobile phones will play a 10-second emergency alert siren If your hearing devices are connected to your phone via Bluetooth, the alert may stream directly into your hearing aids or cochlear implant processor, which could be unexpectedly loud or startling.

To avoid being caught by surprise, you may wish to:

🔹 Turn off Bluetooth on your phone around 10 minutes before the test so the alert plays through your phone's speaker instead.

🔹 If preferred, briefly remove your hearing aid(s) or cochlear implant processor just before the scheduled test time.

We're sharing this information so our hearing health community has plenty of notice and can prepare if needed.

Please consider sharing this post with anyone you know who uses Bluetooth-connected hearing devices. 💙

Be ready!

All our Audiometrists are very proud to be members of ACAud!

Australia needs a connected hearing health pathway across every stage of life.

From newborn hearing screening and preschool checks to school, the workplace, adulthood, healthy ageing and aged care, every hearing check should lead to a clear pathway for care. Every pathway depends on a skilled, connected workforce ready to respond.

That's why ACAud Inc. HAASA is convening Australia's Hearing Health Workforce Summit 2026, to be held in Adelaide on 9–10 November 2026.

This national Summit will bring together professionals from across Australia's hearing health sector to help shape practical recommendations for the future of the hearing health workforce.

Through a structured call for submissions, we're seeking to identify:
🔹 What workforce models, programs and services are already working.
🔹 Where gaps and disconnections exist.
🔹 How we can build a stronger, more connected national hearing health pathway.

Across Australia, there is already outstanding work happening every day. The opportunity now is to connect these ideas, learn from one another, and develop practical solutions that strengthen hearing healthcare for all Australians.

Your experience, ideas and expertise matter. We invite you to be part of this important national conversation.

Together, we can help shape a stronger, more connected hearing health workforce for the future.

All our Audiometrists in the clinic love to see new technology be released. The new rechargeable devices from Starkey display some wonderful noise reduction in background noise and one thing that really stands out for us is 51 Hours between charging, you can keep on in the conversation for much longer. Give the clinic a call if you want to find out more. Remember we are the local and independent hearing clinic, we always give sound advice! www.hear4good.com.au ph 54770144
