Perimenopause is about more than hot flushes.
The transition towards menopause can bring a range of physical and emotional changes, including:
• Brain fog
• Hair loss
• Anxiety or mood changes
• Poor sleep
• Joint aches
• Changes to your periods
• Hot flushes and night sweats
Every woman’s experience is different, and symptoms can change over time.
If symptoms are affecting your everyday life, you don’t have to manage them on your own. Changes in hormones during perimenopause can also affect weight, body composition and overall health.
Supporting your health during this time may include looking at nutrition, movement, muscle health, bone health and other factors that are important to your overall wellbeing.
Your GP can help you understand what’s happening, discuss your symptoms and explore treatment and management options that are right for you.
If something has changed and you’re not feeling like yourself, make time to talk about it.
