I’ve been doing a bit of decluttering this week, and these old Fowlers Vacola jars were one of the things that had to go.

They’ve been sitting around for years because, well… surely I’ll use them again one day. Except “one day” never came.

And it got me thinking about how often we do the same thing with ourselves. We hold onto old roles, old expectations, old versions of who we think we’re supposed to be, even when they don’t really fit anymore.

Midlife has a funny way of making you notice what’s taking up space.

Sometimes the decluttering isn’t just in the cupboards. It’s deciding what still belongs in your life, what doesn’t, and what you actually want to make room for now.

So this week, I’m letting a few things go. Literally and otherwise.

What are you ready to clear out? 👇

The empty nest is supposed to feel light and freeing… isn't it?

You've spent years looking forward to having more time for yourself. No more school runs, fewer schedules to juggle, no one constantly needing something from you. You might have even fantasised about what you'd do with all that freedom.

And then it starts happening.

They're growing up. They're becoming independent. They're spending more time away from home. And suddenly there's more space in your day and more quiet in your house.

So why doesn't it always feel as freeing as you thought it would?
Because sometimes what you're feeling isn't relief. It's grief.

You're grieving a version of your life that you knew so well. The noise, the routines, the conversations, the constant coming and going. Even the things that drove you absolutely mad.

There’s another layer to it.
You aren’t just adjusting to your children needing you differently. You're adjusting to who you are when you're not needed in quite the same way.

You can be incredibly proud of the people they've become and still miss the little people they were. You can be excited about having more freedom and still feel sad about why you have it.

You can want to discover what comes next and still not be ready to let go of what was. You don't have to feel grateful every second. You don't have to rush to fill the space. And you don't have to pretend you aren't grieving just because this is what you wanted for them.

There is room for both.
For the grief.
And, eventually, for the curiosity about you.

Before the session I was stuck in my head about decisions related to the next steps of a recent health diagnosis. Throughout my session it became clear that my body was guiding me towards decisions in my business being a priority.

Through a series of questions and processes (which Tamara demonstrated), I was able to shift out of my head and into my body. This allowed me to soften the pressure I had placed on making decisions.

By the end of the session, I had landed in the place of original intention for the session - to trust my body to make the right choice. I appreciate your calm approach to the session!

A LITTLE CHECK IN WITH YOURSELF

What's been taking up space in your head lately?

You don't need to explain it.
Just give me the first word/s that comes to mind.

Drop it in the comments.

I'll muscle test it for you and send you a little insight into what might be sitting underneath it, along with something simple you can try.

Let's see what comes up.

As a woman over 40:

What are you dealing with?
What do you need support with?
What are you struggling with?
What are you worried about?
What are your goals?
What are you stuck on?
What else can you share?

I would like to know what the things are that you think about all the time, so I can provide useful information or techniques for you to use.

Hi, I'm Tamara.

I spent years being Mum, working, looking after everyone else, dealing with whatever needed dealing with and putting myself somewhere down the bottom of the list. I was so used to being needed that when life started changing and the kids got older, I found myself asking questions I hadn’t really had time to ask before.

What do I want? What do I enjoy? What am I actually doing with the next part of my life? And who am I?

I know what it’s like to have things you want to do and still find yourself getting in your own way. To procrastinate, overthink, doubt yourself and wonder why you can’t just bloody get on with it. I became fascinated by the body’s natural intelligence and the things that can sit underneath what we consciously think we want so I became a kinesiologist.

Essential oils and natural self care have always been another part of my life, so it made sense that they would become part of my work too. For me, it’s not about chasing some perfect wellness routine. It’s about learning to pay attention to yourself.

That’s who I’m here for.

The woman who has spent years looking after everyone else and is now wondering what she wants for herself. The woman who has goals but can’t seem to move forward. The woman who knows there has to be more, but isn’t quite sure what “more” looks like yet.

I’m here to help you figure out what’s getting in the way, reconnect with yourself and start moving towards the things that matter to you.

Because I think midlife is about giving yourself the space to discover who you are.

As Spring brings forth its warmer temperatures and richly flowers and new leaves on trees, it's a perfect time to start enjoying the benefits of using and diffusing essential oils. The easiest way to put oils in the air for inhalation is with aromatic diffusers. Use essential oils to soothe stress, for sleep enhancement, to open up breathing, or even as a natural air freshener.

The transformative power of aromatherapy is really amazing. The right blend of essential oils can enhance any living space. Let them elevate your mood, boost your immunity, and keep your environment chemical-free.

🟣 Lavender Oil – Can not only help to smooth your skin when added to body lotions but can also help you get some serious 💤 from the relaxing element of it. Burnt yourself on the oven? Apply lavender oil before you stick your hand under cold water.

🔵 Eucalyptus Oil - Rub on your chest or use in a diffuser to treat nasal congestion, asthma and support a healthy respiratory system. Put a few drops in the corner of your shower before having a hot, steamy one.

🟠 Orange Oil – Can help lift your mood, reduce stress and symptoms of anxiety and depression. Orange can also level out hyperactivity.

🟢 Peppermint Oil - Supports normal digestion and promotes healthy intestinal function and gastrointestinal system comfort. Apply sparingly on your pulse points when your body temperature rises, it will lower it.

🟡 Lemon Oil – Can help combat exhaustion, help with depression, clear your skin, kill harmful viruses and bacteria, and reduce inflammation. Put a few drops in water every morning to cleanse your gut.

🔴 Tea Tree Oil – Is a natural remedy for treating bacterial and fungal skin conditions, preventing infection, and promoting healing. Put drops in your washing powder before starting your load. Apply to bites from mosquitoes. Use for cleaning.

"I had a session with Tamara to work on my goal of confident, bold, visibility. I was curious how kinesiology might support my current identity shift and was not disappointed! in one session I could already feel that my subconscious stories were shifting.

It feels like a change at a cellular level that I i perhaps couldn't access alone.

The home reinforcement that Tamara offered is giving me something to continue practicing, which I appreciate.

I will definitely be working with her again."
