In honour of World Brain Day 🧠 we’re celebrating our incredible physio Tam!

Our go to guru for all things neuro rehab. With experience spanning spinal cord injury, stroke, amputee rehab, older persons mental health and complex NDIS neurological care, Tam brings knowledge and huge heart to every client she supports 🫶🏽

She’s passionate about helping people with brain and neurological conditions rebuild confidence, independence and participation. Whether that’s getting back to work, returning to hobbies, travelling, or simply feeling more at home in their own bodies.

When she’s not championing brain health, you’ll find Tam growing food, tending to her bees and soaking up the great outdoors.

Happy World Brain Day and thank you, Tam, for the incredible work you do for our community!

Get to know Ben 👋🏽 🌊

Surfing. Golfing. CrossFit. Running. If it gets you outdoors or gets your heart rate up, chances are Ben’s already doing it.

After graduating from UniSA in 2023, he’s spent the last three and a half years treating the Fleurieu community and building a reputation for being the go‑to physio for sports injuries, return‑to‑play planning, and strength & conditioning.

Ben has a particular interest in shoulder, ankle and knee rehab, plus post‑operative orthopaedics but his generalist sports background means he’s ready for whatever walks (or limps) through the door.

On weekends, he’s out hiking, surfing, trail running or chasing a lower handicap on the Goolwa golf courses. We’ll let you guess what he’s playing off… ⛳️

His mission? To help every person stay active, reach their goals, and keep doing what they love. 🩵

We’re stoked to have him as part of the team.

Dry Needling 🪡

What is it? 🧐 It is a targeted technique our physiotherapists use to address myofascial trigger points > those tight, irritable muscle “knots” that can cause local pain, referred pain, weakness, and reduced range of motion.

A fine needle is inserted directly into the trigger point to create a brief, noxious stimulus. This helps disrupt the dysfunctional neuromuscular activity, reset muscle tone, and improve blood flow 🤗

Our physio’s use dry needling alongside thorough assessment and hands‑on treatment to support recovery from musculoskeletal conditions and restore comfortable, efficient movement.

If this treatment sounds like something suitable for you, or you’d like to learn more, book in for an assessment today.

Farewell to our physio, Trav 👋🏽

It’s been a big month for Travis… he celebrated his wedding, enjoyed a well‑earned honeymoon, and now begins a new chapter as he has finished up with Goolwa Physio.

Last week our team gathered for a farewell dinner to celebrate the many years Travis has been part of our clinic. He has made a significant contribution to the growth of Goolwa Physio, built strong and meaningful relationships with his clients, and played an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our community.

We are deeply grateful for his dedication, care, and commitment over the years. Travis, thank you for everything you’ve brought to our team. We wish you all the very best for the future and the exciting journey ahead.

As the cooler months settle in, it’s easy to move a little less and feel a little stiffer. Winter is actually one of the best times to stay connected to your body keeping joints happy and muscles warm 🔥

Pilates is a gentle, low‑impact way to maintain strength and mobility through winter. Whether you’re supporting your core, improving posture, or simply wanting to feel better in your day‑to‑day movement, consistency now makes a big difference later 💪🏽

Your body deserves care all year round, and we’re here to help you keep moving in a way that feels good 😌

Chloe has just wrapped up a full week in Melbourne completing the second practical intensive for her Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy. This block was all about male pelvic health, persistent pelvic pain and bowels - reminder that pelvic health applies to everyone and it deserves far more open conversation than it gets.

It’s been a huge year of learning since starting the grad cert in April 2025, and Chloe has gained so much knowledge and confidence in assessing and treating all things pelvic floor. Studying while working and parenting is no small feat, and it wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of our team Goolwa Physio (Formally: Fleurieu Physio & Wellness) Goolwa Exercise PhysiologyGoolwa Exercise Physiologyessional development. A big thank you to Elise Fraser and Robyn forElise Fraserful teaching, guidance and supervision as tutors.

If you’re experiencing bladder, bowel, pelvic pain or pelvic health concerns, Chloe would love to see you in the clinic.

NEW TEAM MEMBER ✨🤘🏽 You may have noticed a new face around the clinic over the past couple of weeks, and we’re excited to officially introduce Ben!

Ben is the newest addition to our physio team, and he’s already settled in brilliantly. Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find him out on a long-distance run or catching waves while surfing.

If you see Ben around the clinic, be sure to say hello and help us give him a warm welcome! 🤗

Keep an eye out over the coming weeks as we share a little more about Ben and help you get to know our newest physio.

Welcome to the team, Ben! 💙

🌸💙 A Special Wedding Countdown 💙🌸

As many of our patients know, Physio Travis is just one week away from marrying his wonderful fiancée, Nikki.

One of our long-term patients, who regularly brightens our reception area with beautiful flowers from her garden, recently heard that the bridesmaids’ dresses would be blue. Unfortunately, there weren’t any blue flowers blooming at the time, so she decided to take matters into her own hands.

After spending an incredible seven hours creating handmade blue flowers, she surprised us with this stunning arrangement for our front desk in honour of Travis and Nikki’s upcoming wedding.

We are constantly reminded that our clinic is about much more than appointments and treatment plans. Acts of kindness like this make our community so special.

To our generous patient – thank you for your thoughtfulness, creativity, and kindness. You know who you are, and we are very grateful.

And to Travis and Nikki, with just one week to go, we wish you both every happiness as you prepare for your big day. 💙
