New term means new outreach kit! πŸš™
Every new school term the Talkers and Eaters outreach kit is refreshed with new activities, toys and resources to fit new themes πŸŒΏπŸ”.
"Why does the kit get a new theme." I hear you ask.
1️⃣ Repeated exposure to specific vocabulary
If I am talking about the same things and using the same words every time I see someone for multiple weeks, they will pick up on new words and become more confident with familiar words. Specific words like 'sprout' 🌱, 'scarecrow' πŸŽƒ and 'fry' 🍳may not come up everyday, so it's a chance for my patients to learn new words and practice using them each time they see me.
2️⃣ Exposure to new experiences
Having themed activities gives patients a chance to interact with and talk about experiences that may not be part of their day-to-day experience. Activities like ocean swimming πŸ‹, vegetable growing πŸ₯•or eating in a restaurant πŸ‘©β€πŸ³may not be familiar to them, so it's a chance to build world understanding and help lay foundations for understanding other people's perspectives.

I can't wait to be on the road again and seeing all my outreach clients.

What's the best tool for child language development? It's YOU. Parent-implemented therapy is the proven BEST strategy for early language development in children. Parents are a child's first teacher in the world, so who else is better situated to help their little one learn to talk?

I know it's not always easy. You may ask yourself "What should I say?" or "How do I get them to learn the words?". That is why I am committed to advancing my skills as a parent-trainer, so you can be the best language teacher for your child. Whilst I may know the strategies, I believe it is more important for parents use these strategies in a child's daily life, not just the clinic room.

Contact me now if you want to learn more about how to can support your child's early language skills.

When building the business, it took our founder, Miss Ellie, a long time to choose the name. She wanted it to give others a quick snapshot of who the business can help, highlighting not only the speech stuff, but the other areas of practice that are missing from the title "Speech Language Pathologist".
