Yesterday I was privileged to be included in a client's dream that began to evolve into something life changing.

Sometimes the role of Support Worker comes with the daily small wins, getting out of the house, doing the groceries and cooking a meal for the family.

But sometimes we get to be part of unpacking the Big Hairy Audacious Goals into actions that become the start of something amazing.
Their dream brought people who were once strangers, connected over a similar passion, a love for their craft, giving their time freely to a budding artist who they saw has the potential to make this their career- their life.
They came, stayed for hours, shared stories of personal experience, enjoyed a home cooked meal together, and appreciated what each person had to give.

Getting the shopping done can sound like a simple task, however have you noticed how overwhelming it can feel, the sounds, so many people, changing smells, and dealing with the car parks.
I support neurodivergent women who benefit from having someone beside them when out in public, appearing to be a friend, but always there when the anxiety kicks in to reassure them they are doing great. Body-doubling can be empowering.

I’m not sure if it’s just my body changing as I mature, going through peri-menopause, but I’m finding that sometimes keeping the sunnies on and wearing my noise-reducing ear buds can help me get through and enjoy spending more time shopping.

What helps you deal with the overwhelm and keeps you enjoying life?

Some times we all need help with the never ending admin, so I got some help from my IT department today!😄 Thanks Chewy.

Having a support worker can be about administration skills too! This is part of your everyday living funding within NDIS.

I provide executive function skills and mentoring support including, computer tasks, answering emails, keeping track of meetings and commitments, paying the bills and making phone calls.

Would you like to focus on your work or study interests but don't know how to keep your focus- I can help you prioritise tasks and work towards your goals, to help you make real progress.

If your a parent of a child with disabilities tending to the mirid of commitments and service bookings and making their NDIS services work together can feel like a part time job in itself. Even if you have some funding for Support Coordination this is limited. I can help you make the most of your child's plan and keep their support services working together and help you feel in-control of it.
