Most people only think about looking after themselves when they're already exhausted...

But caring for your nervous system isn't just for the hard days.
It's something you can practise in the small moments too.

A slow breath.
A relaxed jaw.
A walk outside.
A moment to notice your shoulders.

Small habits, repeated often, can make a big difference over time.

Stress doesn't usually appear overnight.
It builds quietly.
One busy day becomes another. One skipped break becomes a habit. One restless night turns into weeks.
Most of the time, our body notices long before we do.

πŸ‘‰ Follow ANJI | Stress Recovery & Nervous System Coach. I'm sharing a new body awareness exercise every day to help you understand what your body might be trying to tell you, before stress starts to take over.

That's why I encourage simple body awareness check-ins. They're not about finding something wrong. They're about noticing the little whispers before they become loud enough to demand your attention.

🩡 Have you ever looked back and realised you'd been carrying stress for much longer than you thought?

πŸ‘‡ I'd love to hear your experience in the comments.
πŸ“€ If this reminded you of someone who's always saying, "I'm fine," share it with them.

It sounds strange...
But many people unconsciously hold their breath while concentrating, scrolling, working... or even eating.

When we do this, it can become another way our body responds to stress without us even noticing.

The next time you sit down for a meal, see if you can slow down.
Notice your breathing.
Take your time.
Enjoy the flavours and textures of your food instead of rushing through it.

Eating isn't just about nourishing your body. It can also be an opportunity to pause, breathe, and check in with yourself.

Today, don't try to change anything.
Simply notice.
Are you breathing... or holding your breath?
No judgement.
Just awareness.

Quick question...
Where is your tongue resting right now?

Most people don't know until they're asked.
Tiny moments like this help us reconnect with our bodies.
Awareness doesn't mean something is wrong.
It simply means you're paying attention.

🩡 Where was yours resting?

πŸ‘‡ Tell me in the comments.

πŸ“€ Save this so you remember to check again tomorrow.

πŸ– FINGER TEST FOR STRESS
Rub your thumb and index finger together for 20 to 30 seconds.

Then notice:
✨ Do your fingertips feel warmer?
✨ Can you feel the ridges more clearly?
✨ Or does nothing really change?

This isn't a medical test and it doesn't diagnose high cortisol.

It's simply a body awareness exercise that encourages you to slow down and notice how you're feeling.

When your body has been under ongoing stress, you might also notice:
β€’ poor sleep
β€’ low energy
β€’ bloating
β€’ sugar cravings
β€’ brain fog
β€’ feeling wired but tired

Your body is always communicating with you. The more you learn to notice the small signals, the sooner you can start supporting your nervous system.

You asked why this test matters... πŸ‘€

When we feel stressed, our nervous system can influence things we don't usually think about, including saliva production and swallowing.

That's why this isn't about passing or failing.
It's about noticing.

Small changes in your body can be clues that you're carrying more stress than you realise.

πŸ‘‡ Did the test surprise you?

Your body needs moments like this. 🀍

We often wait until we're completely overwhelmed before we stop and take a breath.

But your body doesn't just benefit from moments of calm when you're stressed, it benefits from them every day.

Placing one hand on your chest and one on your belly can help bring your attention back to your breathing and create a simple moment of connection with your body.

You don't need to be perfect.
You don't need lots of time.
You just need to pause.

🌸 Take one slow breath.
🌸 Let your shoulders soften.
🌸 Notice how your body feels.

Sometimes that's enough to change the direction of your day.

πŸ“Œ Save this as a reminder to pause today.

πŸ’Œ Share this with someone who needs a moment to breathe.

Which hand moves first? 🌿

Place one hand on your chest and one on your stomach.

Now take a slow breath.

Which hand moved first?

Your breathing can tell you a lot about how your body is responding to everyday stress. The goal isn't to change it, it's simply to notice.

This is what I teach, helping people understand the body's signals before stress becomes overwhelm. 🩡

Can you be present for 10 seconds? 🌿

So much of our day is spent thinking about what just happened or what we need to do next that we forget to notice what's happening right now.

For just 10 seconds...

🌸 Notice what you can see.
🌸 Notice what you can hear.
🌸 Notice how your body feels.
🌸 Take one slow breath.

Being present doesn't have to take hours. Sometimes a few seconds is enough to help you reconnect with the moment.

πŸ‘‡ Were you able to stay present for the full 10 seconds?

POV: You're about to discover a habit that could be keeping you overwhelmed.

Have you ever been so focused on your computer, emails or phone that you suddenly realise you've been holding your breath?

This is often referred to as "email apnea" when you unconsciously hold your breath or breathe more shallowly while concentrating.

When this happens repeatedly, it can contribute to your body's stress response and leave you feeling more tense or overwhelmed.

The next time you're working, pause for a moment and notice your breathing.

🌸 Is it slow and steady?
🌸 Or are you holding your breath without realising?

Sometimes the smallest moments of awareness can make the biggest difference.

πŸ‘‡ Have you ever caught yourself doing this? Let me know in the comments.
