Have you ever woken up with sudden neck pain and felt like you could hardly move?
Recently, one of our long-term patients, Natasha Peake , shared her experience after developing severe neck pain and muscle spasms.
"It felt like a turtle pulling its head into its shell and gripping my neck with full strength."
After assessment and treatment, including dry needling, Tash experienced significant relief and improved movement.
While every patient and condition is different, dry needling can be a valuable tool to help reduce muscle tension, relieve pain and restore movement when used as part of a physiotherapy treatment plan.
A huge thank you to Tash for her continued trust, loyalty and for allowing us to share her experience. We are grateful to be part of your healthcare journey. πŸ’™
If you're experiencing neck pain, stiffness or restricted movement, our physiotherapists are here to help.

πŸ’™ Stretch of the Week – Calf Stretch (Bent Knee)
Feeling tight through your calves or ankles? This week's stretch targets the soleus, a deeper calf muscle that plays an important role in ankle mobility, walking, running and balance.
In this post, our physiotherapist Hideki is demonstrating a bent-knee calf stretch to help improve ankle flexibility and release tension through the lower leg.
πŸ’‘ Tip: Keep your heel firmly on the ground and gently bend your knee until you feel a stretch in the lower part of your calf. Hold the stretch comfortably and breathe steadily.
This stretch is great for:
βœ” Improving ankle mobility
βœ” Tight calves
βœ” Walking and running activities
βœ” Sports that involve squatting, jumping or changing direction
If you're noticing ongoing tightness, stiffness or discomfort in your calves, ankles or feet, it may be worth getting assessed. Our physiotherapists can help identify what's contributing to your symptoms and create a personalised plan to help you move more comfortably.

Neck tightness that keeps coming back?
Find the cause, not just the symptom. πŸ’™
If your neck feels stiff, sore, or tight by the end of the day, you're not alone.
Neck tension can be caused by a range of factors, including:
β€’ Long hours at a desk
β€’ Looking down at phones and tablets
β€’ Driving for extended periods
β€’ Stress and muscle tension
β€’ Exercise or movement patterns
Often, the tightness itself isn't the real problem β€” it's a sign that something else may be contributing to the way your neck is moving or working.
To help, we've shared a number of simple neck and upper back stretches on our page that you can try at home. Regular movement and stretching can be a great way to manage day-to-day stiffness.
However, if your symptoms keep returning, it may be worth getting assessed. Our physiotherapists can help identify what's causing your discomfort and create a personalised treatment plan to help you move more freely.

πŸ’™ Stretch of the Week – Thoracic Rotation
Feeling stiff through your upper back after long hours sitting, driving, or working at a desk?
In this post, our senior physiotherapist Shushana is demonstrating a simple thoracic rotation stretch to help release tension and improve upper back movement.
πŸ’‘ Tip: Keep the movement slow and controlled, and try to rotate through your upper back rather than your lower back. Breathe steadily and only move within a comfortable range.
If upper back stiffness, neck tension, or posture-related discomfort keeps coming back, it may be worth getting assessed. Our physiotherapists can help identify what’s contributing to it and create a personalised treatment plan to help you move more freely.

Whether you’re heading back to football, netball, running, or weekend training, ankle support can make a big difference in helping you move with confidence.

In this video, Daniel, our Head Physiotherapist, demonstrates a simple kinesiology taping technique to help provide light ankle support and improve stability.

Kinesiology tape can be a great option for mild support, while some injuries or higher-impact sports may benefit from more rigid taping. The right choice depends on your activity level and your individual needs.

If you’ve had previous ankle sprains, ongoing instability, or you’re unsure what support is right for you, book in with one of our physiotherapists for an assessment and personalised advice.

Feeling good? That’s exactly the time to stay on top of your health. πŸ’™
Physiotherapy isn’t just for when pain flares up.
Regular maintenance appointments can help you:
βœ” Stay mobile
βœ” Prevent small issues becoming bigger problems
βœ” Keep progressing toward your health goals
βœ” Stay active and doing what you love
Many people wait until discomfort returns before booking in β€” but often, a simple check-in can help keep things on track before pain starts affecting daily life.
If it’s been a while since your last appointment, now is a great time to book a maintenance session and stay ahead of the problem.
