ππ WORLD SKIN HEALTH DAY | 8 JULY 2026
Today is World Skin Health Day, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness, improving education and encouraging action to support better skin health for people around the world.
The 2026 theme is:
π βBetter Knowledge for Better Skin Healthβ
This yearβs theme highlights the important role that education, awareness and shared knowledge play in improving skin health outcomes and helping people better understand when changes to their skin may need medical attention.
βοΈ Did you know?
π Your skin is the largest organ of the human body and plays an important role in protecting your body from the outside environment.
π¦πΊ Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world.
π₯ Around 2 in 3 Australians will be diagnosed with skin cancer during their lifetime.
βοΈ Exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation is a major cause of skin cancer, and skin damage can build up over time.
π©Ί Regularly checking your skin and being aware of new or changing spots can help with the early detection of skin cancer.
This World Skin Health Day, take a moment to think about your skin health.
Have you noticed a new spot?
Has a mole changed in size, shape or colour?
Do you have a spot that is bleeding, sore or simply doesn't seem to heal?
Or are you overdue for your regular skin check?
At Graceville Skin Cancer Clinic, our Skin Cancer Doctors provide thorough skin checks using dermoscopy to carefully assess your skin.
