A little professional milestone for A Soft Return. 🤍

I’ve officially been accepted as a Full Member of the International Institute for Complementary Therapists (IICT).

One of the reasons I was particular about the training I chose for both my psychic work and sound healing was that I wanted to train through accredited courses that would allow me to obtain professional membership and insurance.

Not because I believe you need a certificate to be psychic — I absolutely don’t.

But when you decide to take something you love and turn it into a professional practice, I think there’s something important about backing yourself — and backing the people who choose to work with you.

I take this work seriously. To me, it’s sacred work — but with that also comes a very real duty of care.

People can come into this space feeling vulnerable, looking for clarity, reassurance or support, and I believe that carries a responsibility. For me, practising ethically, being properly trained and insured, knowing the boundaries of my work, and continuing to develop professionally are all part of honouring that responsibility.

You certainly don’t need a certificate to be psychic. But if I’m going to offer this work professionally, I want the foundations around it to be professional too.

So I’m pretty proud to add this little IICT badge to A Soft Return. Another piece falling into place as I prepare to open my doors. 🤍

One thing I wasn’t expecting on this journey back to myself was just how many conscious decisions I’d have to make.

People often talk about coming home to yourself as though it just happens naturally. For me, it hasn’t. At times it’s felt uncomfortable because I’ve had to choose differently to how I’ve lived for decades.

Over the past several months, I’ve quietly stepped back from social events, conversations and environments that I would once have felt obliged to say yes to. Not because I didn’t enjoy them, or because there’s anything wrong with them, but because I’ve become much more aware of what supports me… and what depletes me.

After decades of living in survival mode, and then burnout, I’ve learned that capacity doesn’t simply return because life gets quieter.

You have to rebuild it.

For me, that has meant respecting my nervous system, creating space for integration, and accepting that rest isn’t something I earn once everything is done. It’s part of the work.

One of the biggest shifts has been recognising that capacity is my new currency.

I used to measure my life by how much I could get done. Now I ask different questions. Do I have the capacity to hold myself well? Can I be fully present? Can I hold space for the people who trust me with their stories? Because if I can’t hold myself, I can’t genuinely hold anyone else.

I’ve also come to see that every commitment, every environment, every relationship and everything we consume asks something of us. So these days, I choose a little more carefully. Not from fear. From respect.

Maybe that’s the real shift. We spend years trying to manage our time, but perhaps the most valuable thing we’ll ever learn to manage is our capacity.

Because time can be scheduled.

This little logo has been a bigger journey than I ever expected 😅

I went back and forth more times than I can count. Not because I wanted the perfect logo, but because I wanted something that genuinely reflected the heart of A Soft Return.

Every element was chosen with intention.

The open circle represents receiving in a world that teaches us to constantly do.

The central channel represents intuitive connection, while the points symbolise different levels of consciousness and awareness.

The star represents the Higher Self—that quiet place within each of us that already holds wisdom.

The lines extending outwards represent expansion. Because one moment of awareness has the ability to change the way we live.

And the resonance at the base represents embodiment, our connection to the Earth, and grounding higher wisdom into everyday life.

Even the colours tell a story. The ch*****ne gold represents higher wisdom, healing and the flow of guidance, while the charcoal represents grounding, presence and stability.

Because healing isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about gently returning to the parts of yourself that have always been there.

To me, this is more than a logo. It’s a visual prayer. A reminder to soften, receive, expand, embody, and trust the wisdom that’s already within us.

Over the past few months, some of you may have noticed this page has become a little quieter.

That’s because life has taken me in a direction I didn’t know would be called so soon.

After more than 20 years in real estate, I made the decision late last year to step away from the career that had been such a big part of my life. It wasn’t an easy decision, but it was the right one.

Over the past several months, I’ve been immersed in studying psychic healing, psychic reading, channelling and sound healing. More than anything, I’ve been doing the inner work myself—learning to slow down, regulate my nervous system, and return to the person I was before life became so busy.

That journey has become A Soft Return.

This page is no longer about property. It’s now a space where I’ll be sharing thoughts on healing, intuition, nervous system health, personal growth, and the work I’m now honoured to do with clients. You’ll also see updates as I build my wellness studio and community over the coming months.

Whether you’ve been part of my journey for years or you’ve only just found this page, thank you for being here. I know this is a very different direction, but it feels like the most authentic one I’ve ever taken.

I hope something you find here brings you a little more peace, a little more perspective, or simply reminds you that coming home to yourself doesn’t have to be hard.
