Jaw pain, clicking or headaches? 😣
You could be dealing with TMJ Dysfunction (TMD) – a common but frustrating condition that affects your jaw joint.

Your TMJ (temporomandibular joint) is what allows you to chew, talk, yawn, kiss and express yourself. It moves in multiple directions and is powered by key jaw muscles like the masseter and temporalis.

TMD Symptoms may include:
🔹 Pain around your jaw or ears
🔹 Clicking, popping, or locking in your jaw
🔹 Difficulty chewing, yawning or opening your mouth fully
🔹 Headaches

Physiotherapy can help. 🙌
We treat TMD with:
✅ Hands-on therapy to relieve tension
✅ Jaw and neck muscle release
✅ Exercises to restore proper jaw movement
✅ Postural corrections and education

Don’t put up with jaw pain!

Returning to exercise after having a baby is different for every woman… however there are some general guidelines and things we teach.

In rapid fire bullet points (coz we know you’re a busy mumma) 😝

🧡 It is recommended that you wait a minimum of 6 weeks before returning to exercise other than light walking.

🧡 It is important to get the ‘all clear’ from your Obstetrician or the Hospital before returning to exercise (whether this be the gym, Pilates, Yoga, group training etc).

🧡 It’s important to go slow at first so you can go fast later.

🧡 Don’t skip steps! Pelvic floor rehab and re-activating your core (TA) will save you frustrations and injuries later on!

🧡 Our Mums and Bubs Pilates class are a tailored, 8-week program to carefully and safely get you back into exercise after having your baby. It involves one reformer Pilates class per week, over an eight week duration and is taught by our experienced and friendly maternal health physiotherapists.

Book online or give us a call at the clinic today to book your initial mums and bubs consult with one of our physios 😘

Low rows 🚣
✅ Engages your core
✅ Helps strengthen your back muscles
✅ Helps improve your posture

Key things to look out for:
👀 Grow tall through your spine and keep your shoulders down and relaxed (don't let them creep up to your ears!)
👀 Try to keep your tummy muscles engaged (think belly button to spine)
👀 Keep your elbows bent to 90 degrees and close to your body throughout the whole movement

💪 Pilates is just for females ... or so you may hear people say!

Did you know that Pilates is soo beneficial for men too! 😍

🎾 Tennis world # 1 – Andy Murray
🏌️‍♂️15x Major golf championship winner - Tiger Woods
🏉 2016 World rugby player of the year – Beauden Barrett
🏄‍♂️ 3x World surfing champion - Mick Fanning

All of the above are male athletes who have joined Pilates and continue to do so! 🥳

💪 Pilates isn’t just for elite athletes. It's great for all young and mature men, regardless of your current athletic abilities.

💟 So ladies, if hubby needs to get out the house more, get him to jump online and book his initial exercise appointment with a physio! That way he can join classes or get an individual exercise program.

We look forward to helping him soon! ✅
