💙👖 Jeans for Genes Day 👖💙

Today, our educators and children proudly wore their favourite jeans in support of Jeans for Genes Day!

This special day is an opportunity to come together as a community and help make a difference for children and families affected by genetic conditions. Through the generosity of our wonderful families and staff, we are raising funds with gold coin donations to support vital research, treatment and care for children across Australia.

Thank you to everyone who has donated and shown their support. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, helps bring hope to families and supports a brighter future for children living with genetic conditions.

Together, we can make a difference—one pair of jeans at a time. 💙

We are excited to share an important update regarding our ongoing partnership with Greenbank Family Dental and the next stage of our shared commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of the children, families, and communities we serve.

Over the past several months, Active Kids has been working closely with Greenbank Family Dental to strengthen a partnership focused on improving access to preventative oral healthcare for children and families. This collaboration was founded on a shared vision of making quality dental care more accessible, recognising that many families face challenges finding the time, availability, or opportunity to attend dental appointments.

We are thrilled to announce the introduction of the Greenbank Family Dental Mobile Dental Van, which will bring professional preventative dental services directly to our centres and surrounding communities. By providing care in a familiar, safe, and trusted environment, this initiative removes many of the barriers families may experience when accessing dental services.

This exciting partnership strongly aligns with the Active Kids philosophy of supporting the whole child by promoting positive health outcomes and creating meaningful opportunities for families to access essential health services within the communities they already know and trust. Throughout this week, our children have been exploring the importance of healthy teeth as part of Dental Health Week!

Through hands-on experiences, discussions, and mirror play, the children enjoyed looking closely at their own teeth, counting them, noticing their different shapes, and talking about what makes each of our smiles unique. Together, we explored the simple but important ways we can care for our teeth, including brushing twice a day, making healthy food choices, and visiting the dentist regularly.

Learning about oral health from a young age helps children develop lifelong habits that support their overall health and wellbeing. It was wonderful to see their curiosity, thoughtful conversations, and excitement as they discovered more about their amazing smiles!

Keep an eye on our page to see more of the engaging learning experiences our children have been enjoying throughout Dental Health Week. 🪥✨

There is nothing more meaningful than knowing the work we do each day makes a difference. 💛

Over the past week, many of our beautiful families have taken the time to create heartfelt thank you cards with their children to celebrate our incredible educators. These thoughtful messages, kind words, and special drawings have truly touched our hearts.

To our wonderful families, thank you for recognising the love, care, and dedication our team pours into every day. Your support, encouragement, and appreciation mean more than words can express.

To our amazing educators, thank you for creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children feel loved, valued, and at home. You go above and beyond to provide not only exceptional care and education, but also a true second home for every child who walks through our doors.

We are so grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive community. Together, we are creating lifelong memories and giving our little ones the very best start in life. ❤️

Flashback to this beautiful memory this morning.

It’s hard to believe these incredible little people are now in Term 3 of Prep. Where has the time gone?

They say the days are long, but the years are so incredibly short. Watching children grow is one of life’s greatest privileges, yet somehow it always happens far too quickly.

“The little hands we hold today won’t stay little forever. Treasure every moment, because childhood is the shortest season of all.”

Our Toddler children recently had the opportunity to meet a very special new friend – Chocolate the Dog 🤎

Chocolate is our new take-home cuddle toy who will be joining our children and their families on exciting adventures outside of the service. Each week, Chocolate will head home with a different child, where they can spend quality time together creating special memories.

This experience helps strengthen the connection between home and our learning environment, while encouraging communication, storytelling, and a sense of belonging for our children.

We are so excited to follow Chocolate's journey and see all the amazing adventures that await! 🐶📖✨

This Friday, 7 August, our centre will be taking part in Jeans for Genes Day, and we'd love for all of our children and educators to get involved!

Children are invited to wear their favourite pair of jeans for the day to help raise awareness and support this important cause.

If you would like to make a donation, you can:

Bring along a gold coin donation on Friday, or
Donate online using our Jeans for Genes fundraising link or using the QR code

Fundraising Link: https://fundraise.jeansforgenes.org.au/fundraisers/activekidsgreenbank

By donating through Jeans for Genes, you can help the scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute find cures for children with birth defects or genetic diseases, so these kids can go back to being kids.
Every donation, big or small, helps support vital children's medical research and makes a difference to the lives of Australian families.

Thank you for your generosity and support—we can't wait to see everyone in their denim on Friday! 💙
