We had the pleasure of welcoming Joshua & Tara from Barrinbatayi on site to commence consultations around cultural safe services. Our Elders who guide us in everything we do . BDL will be working in collaboration with Barrinbatayi and fully support this amazing service.
❤️💛🖤💙🤍💚

Yesterday, we had the privilege of spending time with the respected Elders of Booroongen Djugun Limited, sharing stories, laughter, and meaningful conversations.

At Barrunbatayi, we believe that listening to and learning from our Elders is at the heart of everything we do. Their wisdom, cultural knowledge, and lived experiences continue to guide and strengthen our communities.

Attending is more than a visit—it is about building genuine relationships, showing respect, and walking alongside our Elders with compassion, dignity, and cultural integrity.

We would like to send a massive thank you Kylie, Gail, their Elders and staff at Booroongen Djugun for your warm welcome and for allowing us to share this special time together.

🖤 Always learning.
🖤 Always listening.
🖤 Always walking together.

As we proudly begin our NAIDOC Week celebrations, we acknowledge the significance of this year’s theme as we celebrate 50 years of NAIDOC—a milestone that pays tribute to the strength, resilience, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
At Booroongen Djugun Limited, we are incredibly proud to continue the vision of our co- founders and Elders by delivering culturally safe Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander aged care, disability services, training, and community programs that support our people and contribute towards Closing the Gap.

We pay our deepest respects and heartfelt gratitude to our co-founders, Elders and ancestors whose courage, wisdom and determination created the opportunities we have today. Their legacy continues to guide our path and inspire future generations.
We sincerely thank our current Elders, whose knowledge, leadership and cultural guidance continue to be the voice of our community and the heart of our organisation.
To our community members, residents, participants, families, staff and Board of Directors—thank you for your commitment, and dedication. Together, we continue to walk alongside our community with pride, respect and purpose.
We also extend our appreciation to our fellow Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs), our valued partners, and the NAIDOC Committee for the incredible work that goes into creating a meaningful week of celebration, reflection and unity.
Now it’s time to come together!
Tomorrow we proudly join our fellow ACCOs, community organisations, schools, services, families and the NAIDOC Committee as we gather for the NAIDOC March. We look forward to walking together in celebration of our cultures, our history, our achievements and our shared future.
Happy NAIDOC Week everyone.

Always Was. Always Will Be.
