Today is Crazy Socks 4 Docs Day, raising awareness of mental heath issues in medical officers.

I felt myself getting burnt out towards the end of last year, as I approached 10 years of private practice. It forced me to set some boundaries around work, such as decreasing my obstetric patient intake, and finishing work a tiny bit earlier every day. I'll also be taking a break from obstetrics from October to April, to see how I feel about it going forward. I know some patients have been disappointed by these changes, but I hope they can understand the reasons behind them. Because, as they say, you can't pour from an empty cup πŸ«—
