🩺 What's in a midwife's pocket?

We asked our Greenslopes midwives to empty their scrub pockets… and the results? Let’s just say it was a mix of lollies, pens, phones, lipgloss, medical must-haves and a whole lot of practicality 😄

It’s not glamorous, but it’s real and just another glimpse into the everyday magic of midwifery life.

Meet Amanda, Clinical Nurse Midwife at Greenslopes Private Hospital 🌸

Amanda has been part of the Greenslopes maternity team for 10 years and is based in the birth suite, where she supports women and their partners or support people during labour and birth.

She loves witnessing the moment that changes lives forever and seeing the confidence mothers gain as they settle into their new role.

Amanda says she also loves the supportive, dedicated team she works alongside every day.

Outside of work, Amanda has two children and two cavoodles, enjoys watching her kids play sport and plays the piano.

A rainbow for a rainbow baby 🌈

This photo was shared with us by one of our mums, whose daughter Ava was born here at Greenslopes in late May.

After a journey through loss and heartbreak, Ava safely arrived under the care of Dr Tang.

A few days later, a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky behind her - a reminder that hope can shine after the storm.

"We are so grateful to the incredible team at Greenslopes Maternity for the love, care and support they showed us throughout our journey to meeting our daughter. Every single midwife that we encountered helped make one of the most special moments of our lives even more memorable."
