We're excited to share an inspiring scoliosis bracing result from Korthotics!

📉 Before bracing: cobb angle 24°
💙 After bracing: cobb angle 6°

With a custom-made 3D scoliosis brace, this patient achieved a significant improvement in their measured cobb angle - from 24 degrees to just 6 degrees!

This result highlights the potential of personalised scoliosis bracing and the importance of individualised assessment, careful brace design and ongoing clinical monitoring.

At Korthotics, we are passionate about combining innovative orthotic technology with personalised care to help our patients work towards the best possible outcomes. 💙

Our Korthotics team was proud to sponsor and contribute to the Pre-Conference Workshop, "Latest Updates in Orthotics – State of the Art 2026," at the RMSANZ Annual Scientific Meeting in Darwin.

Managing Director Merrick Smith and Senior Orthotist Victor Phan presented alongside Dr Nidhi Gupta, Dr Sumitha Gounden, and Ellie Temple, sharing the latest evidence and innovations in orthotic prescription, design, and technology.

The workshop featured real-world case discussions on:
✅ Post-polio syndrome
✅ Charcot neuroarthropathy off-loading orthoses
✅ Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES)
✅ Dynamic Movement Orthoses (DMO)

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with rehabilitation clinicians from across Australia, exchange ideas, and promote evidence-based, patient-centred care.

As the SWAN 2026 Trauma, Critical Care & Emergency Surgery Conference wrapped up last week at Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park, the Korthotics team headed home feeling inspired, energised, and excited about the future of trauma care. 🏥✨

Merrick Smith, managing Director and Victor Phan, senior orthotist, showcased our 3D-printed Bivalve TLSO and 3D Shower TLSO, with particularly strong interest and feedback around the Shower TLSO.

A big thank you to the organisers, Dr Aditya Benjamin, Dr Scott D'Amours, Dr Paul Lambrakis and to the rest of the SWAN committee: Stephanie Penza, Sowmya Kadava, Linda Gutierrez for delivering such a smooth and insightful event.
