In Loving Memory of Terry Hagley
Yesterday we said goodbye to a truly wonderful man — a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and much-loved member of the Gunnedah community. After a short battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully at Gunnedah hospital.
For 40 years, Terry was the local pharmacist in Gunnedah but to say he was simply a pharmacist doesn’t come close to describing the role he played in the lives of the people around him. He was someone people knew, trusted and relied upon. Generations of families walked through his pharmacy doors and over those four decades he became so much more than a pharmacist — he became a familiar and valued part of the community he loved.
Terry believed in giving back. He volunteered his time and energy in many different capacities, always willing to help and contribute where he could. He didn’t seek recognition for what he did, he simply believed that being part of a community meant looking after one another.
But above everything else, Terry was a family man.
He loved his wife deeply, and his greatest joy was his family — his seven children and in time his grandchildren. Family was at the heart of his life. He was proud of us, cared deeply about each of us and created a family that will carry his love and his values forward.
Terry leaves behind a remarkable legacy. A legacy of love for his family, of service to his community, of generosity with his time and of a life spent making a difference to the people around him.
He loved his coffee club, he loved to sing, he enjoyed a chat and his faith was at the heart of everything to him.
Rest peacefully Terry. Forever the heart of our Pharmacy 🤍
