At The Swan Clinic, consultations are designed to be thoughtful, individualised, and grounded in realistic surgical planning.

In this video, Dr Reema Hadi shares how surgical planning involves more than discussing a procedure alone. From 3D imaging and personalised surgical diagrams to continuity of care with an all-female team, every step is centred around understanding each patient’s anatomy, goals, and expectations.

Every surgical plan is carefully tailored to the individual, because no two patients, anatomies, or goals are exactly the same.

If you would like to book a consultation, you can call us on (02) 9526 6885 or email [email protected]. Our team can help guide you through the next steps.

Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner. Please refrain from leaving testimonials on this post, as per AHPRA guidelines.

What happens during a surgical consultation goes far beyond discussing one procedure.

Before recommending surgery, a Specialist Plastic Surgeon considers factors such as your anatomy, medical history, overall health, recovery considerations, expectations, and individual circumstances.

No two surgical plans are exactly the same, because every patient’s anatomy, goals, and circumstances are different.

If you would like to book a consultation, you can call us on (02) 9526 6885 or email [email protected]. Our team can help guide you through the next steps.

Recovery is an important part of any surgical journey, and it often unfolds differently to what patients expect.

Physically, there is a general pattern. Swelling and bruising tend to become more noticeable in the first few days, before gradually improving over the following weeks.

Many patients find the first week the most demanding, as the body is adjusting and movement is more limited. By around 6 weeks, most swelling has eased and day-to-day activities feel more manageable. By 3 months, most visible swelling has resolved, although deeper tissue changes are still evolving.

Recovery also has psychological aspects. It's worth knowing in advance that the early weeks can feel demanding, and that mood and energy often fluctuate during healing.

Recovery is a gradual process rather than a single point in time. Having a clear understanding of this can help set more realistic expectations.

On labiaplasty and the conversation around anatomy, function, and normal variation.

In this video, Dr Reema Hadi discusses the wide range of normal anatomy, how perceptions around the body have changed over time, and why these conversations should always be approached with care, perspective, and respect.

Diastasis recti refers to a separation of the abdominal muscles caused by stretching of the connective tissue between them.

It commonly develops during pregnancy as the abdominal wall expands, although it can also occur outside of pregnancy.

Rather than a muscle tear, it’s a structural change in the abdominal wall, and not simply a matter of strength or fitness.

Some degree of separation is extremely common during pregnancy, and for many women, it can persist well beyond the postpartum period.

In some cases, it may be associated with core weakness, lower back discomfort, or postural changes.

Management is usually approached in stages. Structured physiotherapy is often the first step, particularly within the first 6 to 12 months. When symptoms persist, further assessment may be appropriate.

Abdominoplasty and mini abdominoplasty are often compared, but they are not interchangeable procedures.

They sit on a spectrum of abdominal contouring, and the right approach depends on your individual anatomy.

A mini abdominoplasty is designed for changes limited to the lower abdomen, while a full abdominoplasty addresses more extensive skin laxity and muscle separation across the entire abdomen.

Choosing the appropriate approach starts with understanding what your anatomy needs. This is assessed during a consultation.

If you would like to book a consultation, you can call us on (02) 9526 6885 or email [email protected]. Our team can help guide you through the next steps.

Surgery is the visible part. Our nurses are the ones who carry patients through everything around it, from pre-op nerves to the first dressing change.

Today is International Nurses Day, and we want to thank the nursing team at The Swan Clinic for the care they bring to every patient, every procedure, every day.

Happy International Nurses Day! 🤍

Being a mother taught me something that no surgical textbook ever could: precision requires care. Every decision you make affects someone you're responsible for.

In the operating theatre, that responsibility is no different. When a woman comes to me, I'm operating with the same attention, the same weight of purpose, that I bring to the people I love most.

It's not about an ideal. It's about listening. Understanding. Making decisions that serve her body, her goals, her life. The same way motherhood teaches you to show up for someone else before yourself.

To every woman building something—a family, a career, a life in her own body—happy Mother's Day. And to the mothers, the daughters, the sisters, and the women still figuring it out: thank you for teaching me what real precision looks like.

It's built on care.

— Dr Reema
