We’re delighted that long term Gympie GPs Dr Stu & Lizzie Cooper will be joining the Excelsior Medical Centre team at the end of July 2026. Their clinics are now open for bookings.

Drs Stu & Lizzie Cooper are both British born and trained doctors. They are Fellows of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Stu & Lizzie are passionate about family general practice due to the breadth of medicine it allows them to practice as well as the long-term relationship and continuity of care it enables them to offer to their patients.

Both enjoy being medical generalists and are experienced in all areas of general practice. Stu has special interests in male health, chronic disease management, as well as palliative care. He is also accredited to manage and prescribe for HIV positive patients under the S100 scheme in Queensland; he is an active prescriber of PrEP. In addition, Stu is an experienced Occupational Physician. He has worked with organisations spanning all industry sectors to assist them in managing the health and wellbeing of their employees.

Lizzie has special interests in women & child health, including antenatal shared care and post-natal care. She undertakes minor skin procedures, intravenous iron infusions and inserts the contraceptive implant and mirena.

Stu & Lizzie are married. They have 3 children so their home is never quiet but always great fun! As a family they love to travel, be in the water and the great outdoors.
