Today Mayor Cr Lara Carli met with Liberal Party candidates, Jarrod Bingham, Nathalie Moussi, Simmone Cottom, Graham Watt and Shadow Minister for Police and Corrections and Shadow Minister for Sport Brad Battin to discuss Councils state election priorities.
A key focus was to seek investment in Council's Get the City of Melton Moving campaign. We are calling for:
โข Electrification and duplication of the Melton rail line by 2030
โข New train stations at Mt Atkinson (Truganina), Thornhill Park and Calder Park.
โข Upgrades to Key roads including:
๐Western Highway
๐Melton Highway
๐Hopkins Road
๐Calder Park Drive / Westwood Drive / Robertsons Road (Palmers Road corridor)
๐Taylors Road
As Australiaโs fastest-growing area, our community deserves transport infrastructure that keeps pace with growth.
The meeting provided a great opportunity to discuss key priorities and important local matters.
The Mayor has a number of upcoming meetings with candidates from major parties to continue to represent our community and work with all levels of government to secure the investments that deliver meaningful benefits for residents now and into the future
