One simple way to support early language development is by following your child’s lead during play and everyday activities.

By noticing what interests them and joining in with simple words or phrases, you help create natural opportunities for connection and communication.

Language learning happens best through fun, shared moments, and small interactions can make a meaningful difference over time 🧡

Movement can make a meaningful difference for individuals with ADHD. Regular movement has been shown to improve attention, impulse control, executive functioning and working memory, which are all key skills for everyday life.

Beyond the physical benefits, exercise can help reduce anxiety, improve focus, support better sleep, and manage common co-occurring conditions.

Our clinicians Nick (Exercise Physiologist) and Aaliyah (Physiotherapist) build tailored exercise programs to support each individual’s needs, helping build confidence, focus and lifelong healthy habits through movement 💜

Burnout doesn’t always look like breakdowns. It can show up as constant fatigue, irritability, trouble focusing, low motivation, or feeling overwhelmed by even the smallest tasks. You might even feel mentally exhausted, yet unable to switch off, with your body holding tension throughout the day. These signs are easy to overlook, but they matter.

Our clinicians support individuals in recognising the early signs of stress and burnout, and work alongside you to build strategies that support regulation, recovery, and overall wellbeing. You don’t have to push through it alone 🧡

Understanding behaviour starts with understanding the “why”. In Behavioural Support, ABC stands for Antecedent, Behaviour, Consequence. This is a simple framework that helps us look at what happens before, during, and after a behaviour.

By collecting this information, we can identify patterns and triggers, and better understand what a person is trying to communicate. This allows us to move from reacting to responding with insight and intention, supporting positive alternatives and more meaningful outcomes.

At ECM, our Behavioural Support Practitioners work closely with individuals and families to identify triggers, teach alternative strategies, and support long-term positive change 🩷

Sometimes our minds take shortcuts called cognitive distortions. They can sound like:
→ “I always mess this up”
→ “They must be thinking the worst of me”
→ “This is going to go badly”

But the truth is, your thoughts are not facts. A gentle shift in language can help, creating space between you and the thought.

At ECM, our team of psychologists and counsellors can support you in recognising unhelpful thinking patterns, building awareness, and developing healthier ways to respond, so thoughts don’t control your actions or wellbeing 💭
