The expanded program aims to strengthen pathways for provisional psychologists undertaking the 5+1 internship program, while helping address workforce needs across Australia, including the First Nations communities, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and regional, rural and remote areas.

Across our Hawthorn East and other locations (Local and remote), staff came together for a special lunchtime event to reflect on the significance of IDAHOBIT and reaffirm Cairnmillarโ€™s commitment to fostering safe, inclusive, and affirming environments for LGBTQIASB+ staff, students, and clients.

We were privileged to hear from Lucc Oates, Cairnmillarโ€™s LGBTQIASB+ Contact Officer, who shared a thoughtful and personal reflection on the meaning of IDAHOBIT and their lived experience. We also heard from Dr Brooker, Senior Lecturer and research supervisor, who presented emerging Cairnmillar's research led by Freddie Wright, alongside Dr Zoรซ Krupka, exploring the employment experiences of transgender people and practical ways workplaces can become more inclusive.

Staff contributed messages of acceptance, celebration, and allyship to our Rainbow Wallโ€”creating a vibrant and visible expression of support for LGBTQIASB+ communities.

As an institute dedicated to mental health, wellbeing, and education, Cairnmillar recognises that diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety are essential to ensuring all people feel welcome, respected, and able to thrive.
