A home should be more than four walls and a roof.

For people receiving disability support, the right home can create opportunities to build confidence, develop independence, connect with others and make everyday choices.

At Arete Care, we believe supported independent living should be about more than providing a place to stay. It should be about creating an environment where people can feel comfortable, supported and at home.

Because home is not just where you live.

It’s where you belong. If you or someone you care about is looking for a place to call home, or is seeking the right support to live more independently, we'd love to connect with you.

Reach out to our team for a conversation about your needs and goals, and let's explore how we can support you in finding the right fit.

At Arete Care, we believe the best outcomes come from genuine connection and shared learning across the NDIS community.

Our team recently attended a series of NDIS events, connecting with providers, support coordinators, allied health professionals and advocates from across the sector. The conversations reinforced something we already knew: this community is generous with its experience, honest about its challenges and genuinely committed to working together.

We're grateful for every conversation and every insight shared with us. It's encouraging to be part of a network so focused on improving outcomes for participants and their families.

We're looking forward to reconnecting with many of the people we met, and continuing the conversations that started there.

At Arete Care, independence isn't about doing everything alone. It's about having the right support to live life with confidence, dignity, and choice.

Every participant's journey is unique. Our role is to provide the encouragement, guidance, and support they need to achieve their personal goals while respecting their independence every step of the way.

Whether it's preparing a meal, building daily living skills, joining the community, or pursuing personal interests, we believe in empowering people to make their own choices and live life on their own terms.

Because true support isn't about taking over. It's about standing beside someone as they build the life they want.

Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do is simply listen.

Feeling heard can make a real difference. It helps people feel valued, respected, and confident that their thoughts, choices, and goals matter.

No two people are the same, and that's why taking the time to listen is such an important part of person-centred support. It's through conversations, understanding, and genuine connection that we can better support people in ways that reflect who they are and what matters most to them.

At Arete Care, we believe every participant deserves to feel heard, respected, and involved in the decisions that shape their everyday life. Because when people know their voice matters, support becomes more meaningful.

After all, great support doesn't begin with having all the answers, it begins with listening. 💛

Understanding Parkinsonism

Parkinsonism is a term used to describe a group of neurological conditions that affect movement. Common symptoms can include tremors, muscle stiffness, slowed movement, and difficulties with balance and walking. While Parkinson's disease is the most recognised form, Parkinsonism can refer to several conditions that share similar symptoms.

Living with Parkinsonism can present daily challenges, and every person's experience is unique. Beyond movement-related symptoms, some individuals may also experience changes in communication, sleep, mood, and daily functioning.

Through the NDIS, people living with Parkinsonism may be able to access supports that promote independence, community participation, and improved quality of life. These supports can include assistance with daily living, social and community engagement, transport, therapy supports, and assistive technology, depending on individual needs and goals.

At Arete Care, we are committed to providing person-centred support that empowers individuals to live as independently as possible and stay connected to their communities. We work alongside participants to support their goals, encourage meaningful participation, and promote dignity, choice, and inclusion.

💙 Awareness helps build understanding. Understanding helps build more inclusive communities.
