Big Smiles, Big Moments 💛

At New Beginnings, it’s the little moments that mean the most the laughs, the friendships, the achievements, the confidence and, of course, the smiles!

Every smile in these photos tells its own story, and we’re so proud to be part of each participant’s journey.

We believe everyone deserves to feel valued, included, supported and, most importantly… to have a bloody good time while doing it! 😂

🚨 FRED’S ADVENTURES CONTINUE… 🚨

Looks like Fred has decided it’s time to make himself useful!

Today he’s joined forces with one of our participants for a bit of teamwork around the Day Service one on the vacuum and one on the broom!

We’re not sure how much cleaning Fred is actually doing… he seems to be doing a lot more supervising than sweeping.

At this rate, Fred is working his way through every job at NBSS!

🚨 FRED’S ADVENTURES CONTINUE… 🚨

Looks like Fred has decided he’s had enough of just hanging around… today he’s taken over Belinda’s Admin desk!

“Can I take a message?”
“Don’t forget to sign in!”

We’re not entirely sure what qualifications Fred has for the role, but he’s looking VERY confident behind that desk.

Belinda might want to watch out… Fred could be coming for her job!

Although, judging by the lack of paperwork being done, we think her position is pretty safe. 🤭

What better way to welcome some of our newest team members than with a little challenge?!

The mission was simple: get the Oreo from your forehead to your mouth WITHOUT using your hands! 🍪

Some made it look easy… others may need a little more practice. But there were plenty of laughs along the way!

Fred’s Monday Update!

It’s Monday morning and Fred has decided it’s time to take his career very seriously. So naturally, he’s pulled up a chair at Senior Peter’s desk for some one on one training.

🎃 Meet Fred... Our Not So Spooky Newest Team Member! 👻

Well... nobody actually hired him, but somehow he just showed up at New Beginnings and has decided he's staying! 😂

Don't let the skeleton fool you Fred is more of a gentle giant than a Grim Reaper. He loves making people smile, joining in on activities, meeting new friends and causing a little harmless mischief around the office and Day Service.

Rumour has it he's on a mission to experience everything Hervey Bay has to offer before Halloween... and he's taking all of you along for the ride!

From coffee runs
to craft days
to karaoke
to community adventures
to cleaning
..there's no telling where Fred will end up next!

Big shout out to Caffeine Fix for letting Fred on the coffee run this morning.

Lights, Camera... Puppets!

What an incredible day at New Beginnings Support Services!

After weeks of planning, creating, practising, and plenty of laughs, our talented participants proudly performed their very first puppet show and it was an absolute hit!

It was amazing to watch everyone's hard work, creativity, and confidence come together for the final performance. We couldn't be prouder of what our participants achieved and the dedication shown by our wonderful staff in supporting them every step of the way.

- 1:1 participant supports
- Personal care
- Community access & capacity building
- Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports
- Travel to surrounding areas, including Maryborough, Torbanlea, and Burrum Head
