M A Y. Recap.
Started the month with my birthday, turned 38, went to dinner at my favourite place in the city - angel falls.

We ripped up the front garden - 78m2. Still not mental ready but it is happening, creating a native naturalistic garden.

This month I wanted to tick off health checks. My coffee after a skin cancer check, also have completed bloods, fixed a filling that fell out, had CF review check up.

In the clinic I shared the treatment of twin boys I saw in the clinic where we have halved the pain that was crippling and reduced all pain killers.

Finished with cystic fibrosis day- beautiful bouquet of roses that raise money to find a cure.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a light, subtle touch to ensure the body doesn’t become even more stressed, overwhelmed, or traumatised.

We believe in the body’s intelligence and wisdom. It knows how to heal — we just create the space and offer embodied co-regulation to do this.

In offering a lighter touch, the fascia and fluid have the space and time to shift, reorganise and come into balance. The pressure doesn’t feel constrictive or performative; it instead feels safe.

Safe enough to let go of bracing, clenching and holding patterns.
Safe enough to let go of heavy emotions and feelings.

The work is very subtle, but client’s can have powerful sessions. Over the last 20 years, I have seen better results using Craniosacral in my sessions than deep tissue or remedial massage alone.

What is it I do? I am a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist - which is a light, highly intuitive modality of bodywork.

Originating from Osteopathy, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is about deeply listening to the body, the sensations and fluids within as it tells the body’s story.

The trauma-trained practitioner holds space for the client’s body to come into relationship with feeling safe, regulated and embodied.

We work intuitively with the fascia — the bracing and protective holding patterns — and with the nervous system, supporting the body in releasing tension, stress, and trauma at a slow, titrated pace. We track sensations, activations, tension and held emotions through out the body. It resonates and I can feel it in mine.

Note. This is a 2 year accredited qualification, not a weekend course. We are trauma-trained instead of trauma-informed. Do your research into your practitioner- I had such a bad experience with one years ago and it really activated my stress rather then feel safe and relaxed.

Pain grinds you down. You begin to feel helpless, unhappy and more stressed about exacerbating the pain.

Twin boys, 15 years, had somatic sessions with me in the clinic. Both presenting with the same hip pain - scans showed hip lesions - this doesn’t mean there is structural damage, how many people walk around with lesions and not know?
Pain was 8/10, chronic and had to be managed with strong painkillers daily.
The boys were unable to play soccer or do competitive running.

All day they had to brace and be so aware of how they held theirselves. How they sit, how they bend and how they moved to ensure the pain wasn’t amplified.

I know that when a person is deep in pain, their amygdala in the brain is like a siren. Sending pain signals. The perception of pain increases. The levels of stress increase.

I worked on calming the amygdala - shifting the urgency to regulation. Reducing the pain and leaving the boys feeling empowered. They can heal their bodies, they can come into better relationship with pain and discomfort in their body. I truely just want them to feel good again in their bodies and have the capacity to play sport.

Within 2 treatment, the pain score was 4/5. No longer taking pain killers. Moving better, falling happier, more resourced, more relaxed. Even back kicking the soccer ball! They feel hope.

I’ve worked with the body for 20 years and have a deep understanding of pain and how it impacts our mental and physical wellbeing.
