⚠️⚠️⚠️ No sunnies were harmed, damaged, or emotionally affected during today’s playroom adventures. 😎🧸

Our lovely, play therapist, Sara, misplaced her sunnies and wondered if they had been left in her playroom… so naturally, we investigated. The sunnies seemed to be making themselves very comfortable among the toys!😇🤣

It’s a fun reminder that, as play therapists, we spend our days helping children connect, regulate, and express themselves through play—and sometimes we get to enjoy a little play ourselves during our downtime too.

✨ Sometimes the most meaningful moments happen in silence.

When children play, they are communicating in their own unique way. By resisting the urge to ask questions or fill every quiet moment, we give them the space to process emotions, build confidence, and explore their world at their own pace.

Holding space for silence isn't doing less—it's creating the conditions for children to feel heard, accepted, and understood without needing to explain themselves.

Read our latest blog to discover why silence can be one of the most powerful tools in supporting a child's emotional development. https://corekidstherapy.com.au/importance-of-holding-space-for-silence/

💛 Somewhere along the way, many caregivers stop recognising themselves outside of the role they hold for everyone else.

Between appointments, school drop-offs, emotional support, routines, responsibilities, and simply trying to “keep it all together” — it can become easy to lose connection with the person behind the caregiver.

But your needs, identity, joy, and wellbeing matter too 🌿

In our latest blog, we explore the importance of reconnecting with yourself beyond caregiving, why this can feel so difficult, and gentle ways to begin rediscovering the parts of you that may have been placed on hold.

✨ Because caring for yourself is not selfish — it’s an important part of sustaining care for others.

While triggers activate our fight-or-flight response🤯😵‍💫, glimmers do the opposite💞💖.

They are tiny moments of connection or beauty that signal safety to our nervous system, helping to lower stress and bring us back to a state of calm.

We love capturing the glimmers around us, like this view at our Moorabbin clinic. The warmth of the sunshine on these plants is a visual cue for relaxation. Experiencing this with our own eyes reminds us of the healing power of micro-moments. 💚🍀🏵 (glimmers)

Next time you are at the clinic, take a moment to look around and find your glimmer.
