Introducing our very first physical location at 13-17 Castray Esplanade, 'Harrietts Landing', Battery Point.

Mobile Therapy Tasmania is a network of independent remedial massage therapists delivering in-home care to older Tasmanians under the Support at Home framework.

Most of our work happens in clients' homes, which means our therapists are often working solo, without a clinic environment or colleagues down the hall.

This space changes that. It's a place for our Associated Providers to come together for training, mentorship, and connection β€” swapping techniques, learning from one another, and catching up at team meetings and dinners downstairs 🀝

It's also an accessible space our less mobile clients can access with ease, with lift access into the building and no fuss getting to the treatment room. An electric massage table, comfortable seating, and warm towels make it a space to properly relax in, with natural light and views over Princes Park.

Housed in one of Battery Point's heritage waterfront buildings and tucked near Princes Park, it's an easy spot to duck into between visits.

The room is open for bookings with Hayley on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with other days available by appointment. Bookings can be made through the Body Stillness website https://www.bodystillness.com.au/

We've always run as a fully mobile, remote business, and having a space of our own has been a goal for ours for a long time.

With a growing team of therapists out in the community, and with Leah and Lise coordinating behind the scenes, it felt like the right time to bring us together more than we've been able to over the past few years.

We're looking forward to welcoming therapists β€” and clients β€” through the door.

Remedial Massage Therapists EOI – In-Home Aged Care

Mobile Therapy Tasmania is looking for qualified remedial massage therapists to provide in-home massage to older Tasmanians across Tasmania.

You'll work one-on-one with clients in their homes, adapting your approach for clients living with chronic illness, arthritis and cognitive impairment - supporting comfort, mobility, and general wellbeing. It's hands-on, meaningful work where you get to know the people you're treating and see the difference you make, visit to visit.

Your willingness to learn matters more than experience. New graduates and experienced practitioners are both welcome; aged care has its own standards and protocols, so there's a learning curve early on, and we guide you through the full onboarding process.

The work:

βœ” One-on-one in-home remedial massage with aged care clients
βœ” Supporting comfort, mobility, and independence
βœ” Flexible scheduling - work in the areas and hours that suit you
βœ” Ongoing contact with the same clients, building real therapeutic relationships

We're looking for:

βœ” Qualified remedial massage therapist
βœ” Genuine interest in aged care and working with older clients
βœ” Confident working independently in clients' homes
βœ” Reliable transport across Southern or North Tasmania
βœ” Own ABN, and current professional indemnity/public liability insurance (or willing to obtain)

You'll operate as an Associated Provider - working on your own terms, with referrals matched to your skills and availability, and support behind you for documentation, compliance, and care coordination, so you can focus on the massage itself.

Remedial massage plays a real role in supporting older Tasmanians to stay independent, mobile, and comfortable in their own homes.

But there's another side to it that's easy to overlook.

For many of our clients, this is dedicated one-on-one time with another person. Some weeks, it's the only time they get it.

A conversation. Someone who notices how they're really doing. A sense of connection that supports wellbeing just as much as the treatment itself. 🀝

That's part of what makes in-home care different. It's not just about the hands-on work. It's about the whole person we're caring for.

Mobile Therapy Tasmania delivers in-home remedial massage to aged care and Support at Home participants across Tasmania.

If you're supporting an older family member and wondering what in-home care actually looks like, we're happy to talk it through. Call us on 03 6232 4911 or email [email protected].

Hi, I'm Hayley, founder of Mobile Therapy Tasmania πŸ‘‹

I want to kick things off with a proper reintroduction, and maybe even the start of a little series where you get to meet the people behind MTT.

It's been a while since I've posted here. Not because things have been quiet, quite the opposite. The last couple of years have been full: growing our network of therapists across the state, building out the systems behind the scenes, and working every day to make sure older Tasmanians get the care they deserve in their own homes.

I still see clients myself, in their homes. Remedial massage work with older people is where MTT started, and it's still where my heart is 🀍

Bodywork has been part of my life since I was young. I live with scoliosis, and a major injury in my twenties led me to discover just how much proper bodywork could help me manage pain and move through the world differently. That's stayed with me ever since, and it's a big part of why I do what I do.

Running MTT has taught me as much about leadership as it has about massage. Building a team of independent therapists across Tasmania means holding a lot of moving parts, and holding them well.

Outside of MTT, I've recently been appointed to the board of the Association of Massage Therapists, where part of my focus is advocating for the massage therapy profession itself. I'm also serving as Treasurer for the newly formed Hobart Women's Shed, a not-for-profit creating an inclusive, accessible space for women and gender-diverse people to connect through arts, wellbeing and community.

Both feel like a natural extension of something I've always cared about: listening to people, and advocating so they're properly heard.

I'm also a mother, and that shapes how I lead. Patience, presence, and knowing when to slow down are things I practise at home before I bring them to work πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§

And now, a first for MTT: we're opening our very first treatment room and office πŸŽ‰ After years of home visits and building this business from the ground up, having a physical space of our own feels like a real milestone.

I'm proud of what we've built, and even more excited about where we're heading. Over the coming weeks I'll be introducing you to some of the people who make MTT what it is.

Glad to be back here 🀍

A couple of weeks ago we had the privilege of attending the Aged and Disability Expo in Launceston β€” and it reminded us exactly why we do this work.

The conversations were genuine, the connections were real, and the energy in the room spoke to how much people in this sector care β€” even at a time when aged care is facing real challenges. Funding pressures, system changes, workforce gaps. It's a complex landscape. But the people showing up every day to navigate it alongside older Tasmanians are remarkable.

We came away energised and clear about what's next for Mobile Therapy Tasmania: we are ready to expand into the North!

If you are a registered provider, care coordinator, or allied health professional based in Launceston or surrounding areas, we would love to connect. We are actively building relationships with providers in the region and are ready to support your clients with in-home remedial massage therapy.

πŸ“We'll be back in Launceston this Friday β€” this time joining the RMTs of Launnie meetup at . Looking forward to catching up with some familiar faces and meeting a few new ones.

Come and find us or reach out to connect ✨️

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the first Planning for Diversity workshop held in Launceston, organised by the Older Peoples Advocacy Network (OPAN). This is a topic I am so passionate about when it comes to delivering aged care massage.

It was great to network with others in the industry and learn how as a provider of aged care services we can further commit to providing a safe and inclusive space for older people from diverse and marginalised backgrounds.

Did you know there are 12 characteristics of diversity??

πŸ–€Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
🌏 People from Culturally And Linguistically Diverse backgrounds
πŸ§‘β€πŸ¦½People with a disability
🧍Care leavers
πŸ§‘β€βœˆοΈVeterans
πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆLGBTI people
🚜People who live in rural, remote or very remote areas
πŸ™Socio or economic disadvantage
πŸ’š People with mental health problems and mental illness
πŸ§“People living with cognitive impairment, including dementia
πŸ’” Parents separated from their children by forced adoption
πŸ›ŒPeople who are homeless or at risk of being homeless.

There is no limit to the number of different characteristics a person holds and no two people's lived experiences are the same.

At Mobile Therapy Tasmania, we are committed to growing our understanding and compassion for people from all walks of life and recognise that older people with diverse needs, characteristics and life experiences may experience barriers and difficulties accessing the aged care system.

I'll be returning to Launceston in 2 weeks for workshop #2 to develop our Diversity Plan on how we can deliver person-centred care that affirms older people's life history, culture and intersectionality.

"Diversity should be at the core of business in aged care"
