Men’s Health Week | 15–21 June 2026

💙 Why Men’s Health Matters

Men are at higher risk of many serious health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. Mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, and su***de also disproportionately affect men, yet too many delay seeking support due to stigma or societal expectations.

This Men’s Health Week (15–21 June 2026), we’re encouraging men to put their health first. Small actions today can make a big difference tomorrow.

2026 Australian Theme: "See a GP"

If something doesn’t feel right either physically, mentally, or emotionally...don’t ignore it. Seeing a GP can help identify concerns early and connect you with the right support.

✅ Take regular exercise to support your health and reduce stress
✅ Book regular health checks and screenings
✅ Reach out for help when feeling low or overwhelmed
✅ Check in on a mate who may be doing it tough

Talking about health is so important. Whether it’s making an appointment, starting a conversation, or supporting a friend, every step counts.

This Men’s Health Week, make your health a priority and encourage the men in your life to do the same.

💅 Pedicures can be a great form of self-care …. but it’s important to be aware of infection risks if nail salon hygiene practices aren’t up to standard.

Our podiatry team wants everyone to be aware of the risks of infections and how to best avoid them, whilst still enjoying the leisure activities and self-care treatments you love 💙

Recent research highlights that bacteria, fungi and viruses can spread through shared nail tools, foot spas and small skin cuts during treatments.

To help reduce your risk:
✔️ Choose salons that visibly clean and sterilise equipment between clients
✔️ Avoid treatments if you have cuts, broken skin or infections
✔️ Don’t shave your legs right before a pedicure
✔️Ensure disposable bowl covers are applied before the sink is filled
✔️ Make sure foot spas are properly cleaned and disinfected
✔️ Ask the Salon if they sterilised equipment between clients
✔️ See your GP or podiatrist if you notice redness, swelling, pain or changes to your nails after treatment

People with diabetes, poor circulation or lowered immunity should take extra care, as infections can become serious more quickly.

A little awareness and prevention can help keep your self-care safe, healthy and enjoyable 👣

🥚 Breakfast made easy! 🥚

You’ll never have to run out the door without eating breakfast again 🙌

Make these egg muffins ahead of time, store them in the fridge, and simply grab-and-go when you’re in a rush. They’re quick, easy, packed with protein, and perfect for busy mornings!

Meal prep once and enjoy stress-free breakfasts ✨

Recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup baby spinach chopped
¾ cup finely diced red capsicum
¾ cup finely diced green capsicum
¾ cup quartered cherry tomatoes
6 large eggs
4 large egg whites
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon dried basil
¼ teaspoon dried oregano
Pinch ground black pepper or cayenne pepper
¼ cup crumbled feta cheese plus additional to sprinkle on top
Optional extra: ¾ cup finely diced ham
Optional extra: Diced Avocado to serve on top

Directions
Preheat oven to 180 degrees fan forced. Lightly coat a standard 12-cup muffin tin with nonstick spray.
Divide the spinach, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and tomatoes among the cups (they will be about two-thirds of the way full).
In a large bowl or large jug with a spout, briskly whisk together the eggs, egg whites, salt, basil, oregano, and pepper until well combined.
Carefully fill each muffin cup three-quarters of the way to the top with the egg mixture. Sprinkle the feta evenly over the tops of the cups.
Bake for 25 minutes, until they are set. Let cool for a few minutes, and then run a butter knife around the edges of each muffin to loosen it. Remove them from the pan and enjoy immediately

TO STORE: Let the muffins cool completely, then place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
