Perinatal mental health is about so much more than postnatal depression. It can include anxiety, grief, trauma, difficulties adjusting to parenthood, challenges with bonding and attachment, or simply having thoughts and feelings you don't know how to put into words.
And support isn't just for mums. Dads and partners can also experience big emotional changes as they navigate pregnancy, birth and the transition into parenthood.
At The Crawley Clinic, Laura and Carsten have a particular interest in supporting parents through this important life stage.
Laura supports parents and infants across the perinatal journey, with a focus on perinatal anxiety and depression, bonding, attachment and adjustment to parenting.
Carsten has a special interest in men's mental health and supporting new dads, including helping fathers strengthen their emotional wellbeing, relationships and family connections.
You don't have to wait until things feel unbearable to reach out. Sometimes, having a safe and non-judgemental space to talk can make all the difference.
