At Glebe Hill Family Practice and GHFP Nurture, our organisational values are Quality, Safety and Belonging and we work hard to provide an accessible, safe and respectful experience for everyone who walks through our doors or contacts our team.

Like many healthcare services, there are times when we are unable to provide exactly what a patient may be seeking. We understand that this can be frustrating. However, our staff and practitioners deserve to be treated with the same courtesy and respect that we expect them to show every patient.

Recently, we experienced an interaction that fell short of these expectations and were considering ending our professional relationship with the patient involved. Before that decision was finalised, the patient took time to reflect on what had occurred and proactively apologised for their behaviour.

That apology mattered.

It demonstrated insight, accountability and a willingness to take responsibility for their actions. We greatly appreciated the courage it took to have that conversation, and as a result, we reconsidered our decision.

This experience serves as a valuable reminder that respectful relationships are built on mutual accountability. We all have moments we wish we could handle differently. What is important is how we respond afterwards.

While we maintain a zero-tolerance approach to abusive, threatening or aggressive behaviour, we also believe in recognising genuine reflection, accountability and positive change when it occurs.

Thank you to our incredible team, who continue to show professionalism, patience and compassion every day. Your wellbeing matters, and we remain committed to ensuring our practices are safe and respectful places for staff, practitioners and patients alike.

Thank you to the majority of our patients who treat our team with respect, patience and kindness, and who regularly brighten our day with a smile. We appreciate you more than you know!

๐ŸŒฟ Asthma Week 2026 | 1-7 Sept ๐ŸŒฟ

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australian women live with asthma, and women are twice as likely to die from asthma as men?

This Asthma Week (1-7 September 2026), Asthma Australia is shining a light on women and asthma, highlighting how hormonal changes throughout life - from childhood and puberty through to pregnancy, menopause and older age - can affect asthma symptoms and control.

Whether your asthma feels well managed or you've noticed changes in your symptoms, now is the perfect time to book an Asthma Review with your GP.

โœ… Check your asthma is well controlled
โœ… Review your medications and inhaler technique
โœ… Update your Asthma Action Plan
โœ… Discuss any changes in symptoms and triggers

Don't wait for an asthma flare-up. A regular review can help you stay well, breathe easier, and take control of your asthma.

๐Ÿ“ž Contact Glebe Hill Family Practice or GHFP Nurture today to book your Asthma Review during Asthma Week 2026.

โœˆ๏ธ Travelling overseas? Don't forget to check your measles protection before you go

Measles cases linked to international travel are increasing, and recent research suggests around 1.7 million Australians may not be fully protected against measles.

Measles is one of the most contagious viruses in the world and can spread rapidly when unvaccinated travellers bring it back into Australia.

๐Ÿ‘ถ Infants are particularly vulnerable. Babies are too young to receive their full measles vaccination schedule, making them reliant on the protection of vaccinated family members and the wider community.

Before your next trip:
โœ… Check your vaccination records
โœ… Make sure you've received 2 doses of a measles-containing vaccine
โœ… Seek advice for infants and young children travelling overseas

Protect yourself, protect your family, and protect Australia's hard-earned measles elimination status.

๐Ÿ“ž Contact our Travel Clinic @ Nurture for a comprehensive pre-travel medical consultation and to review your vaccinations before you travel.

Swapping Scrubs for Jeans for a Great Cause! ๐Ÿ‘–

Today some of our team from Glebe Hill Family Practice and GHFP Nurture traded their scrubs for denim in support of Jeans for Genes Day.

With a gold coin donation, we're helping raise funds and awareness for children and families affected by genetic conditions. Every contribution supports vital research and care that can make a real difference.

We're proud to come together for such an important cause and have a little fun along the way!
