World Family Doctor Day

Today on World Family Doctor Day, we celebrate the incredible role family doctors and general practice teams play in caring for our community through every stage of life.

This year’s theme, Compassionate Care in a Digital World, recognises the importance of combining modern technology with the human connection at the heart of healthcare. Family doctors are often the first point of care, providing trusted, continuous and compassionate support for individuals and families alike.

To our doctors, nurses, reception and administration teams, and all those working in primary care - thank you for the care, kindness and dedication you bring to our patients every day.

Happy World Family Doctor Day 💙

Today, on Mother's Day, we celebrate and thank the many people who provide maternal care, guidance, comfort and support in our communities.

To mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, foster mums, adoptive mothers, aunties, carers and all maternal caregivers: thank you for the countless ways you nurture and nourish the people around you.

The care we receive through loving relationships can have a lifelong impact on health and wellbeing. Feeling safe, supported, encouraged and cared for helps children and adults alike to thrive: emotionally, physically and socially.

Today we acknowledge the quiet acts of care, the emotional labour, the advocacy, the patience, and the unwavering support that maternal caregivers provide every day.

Wishing a warm and happy Mother’s Day to all those who care for others with kindness and compassion. 💐

🌬️ World Asthma Day – 5 May 2026 🌬️

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory lung condition affecting over 2.8 million Australians and millions more worldwide. Tragically, most asthma-related deaths are preventable.

This year, the National Asthma Council Australia is highlighting the theme:
“Access to anti-inflammatory inhalers for everyone with asthma – still an urgent need.”

The updated Australian Asthma Handbook now recommends:
✅ Anti-inflammatory reliever (AIR) therapy for adults and adolescents
✅ Maintenance-and-reliever therapy (MART) instead of relying on short-acting relievers alone

These updates are helping to ensure safer, more effective asthma management for everyone.

💡 Tip from our clinic: If you or someone you care for has asthma, book a check up with your GP at least once a year, and talk to your GP about whether these updated treatments are right for you. Preventing flare-ups can save lives! And don't forget your annual Flu Vaccination - now is the time!
