A L O H A W Ā H I N E ! Did you know Women are completely rejecting wellness trends. Here is why ...

🌿Research is showing that when a woman asks "how do I relax?", she isn't looking for a trend or a checklist. She is looking for an escape from her own hyper-vigilance.

When your mind is stuck in a loop, relaxation feels unsafe.

🌿Google Search data reveals women are entirely rejecting superficial trends because they don't work.

You cannot command a stressed brain to quiet down when you feel under pressure.

You cannot force relaxation. But you can seduce the body into safety and trust - that is the key.

This is the baseline of traditional Hawaiian Lomilomi. It doesn't fight your tension - it uses continuous, flowing strokes that deepen with each layer, taking your mind into a quieter place until the body follows, surrenders its armour, and dissolves into deep rest.

🌿But the healing starts before the table. In our opening conversation, we look at the specific weight you are carrying and the daily habits making it hard to relax.

Itʻs a gentle mirror that helps you understand yourself. Afterward, youʻre able to connect the dots.

🌿Learning deep rest you can build on every day is a non-negotiable imperative to your health—and it can start simply with Lomilomi.

I have two openings left this Sunday, and advanced bookings are open for next week. Your mental and physical health can't really afford to wait ... Aloha, Julia Nālani 🌺x

A L O H A W Ā H I N E! Why is it that the moment you tell your brain to "relax," it lists 45 things you forgot to do? 🙄

Weʻve been conditioned to treat relaxation like another chore on our to-do lists.

We try to FORCE our minds to quiet down.

🌿But biology tells a completely different story: Relaxation is an act of physical safety, not a mental command. Your body must explicitly FEEL SAFE before your brain can turn off the constant "fight or flight" loop.

If you want to shift your nervous system in the moment, hereʻs 3 physical steps you can do right now:

🌿1. The Physiological Sigh:
Take two quick breaths in through your nose (one deep breath, followed immediately by a sharp "top-off" inhale), exhale fully and slowly through your mouth. Doing this twice instantly pops the tiny air sacs in your lungs, forcing your heart rate to slow down.

🌿 2. Drop the Jaw and Shoulders
We hold immense stress in our structural alignment. Intentionally unclench your teeth, let your tongue drop from the roof of your mouth, and pull your shoulders down away from your ears. Releasing these specific muscles sends an immediate "all-safe" signal back to your brain.

🌿3. Soften Your Gaze
When we are stressed, vision narrows into a sharp focus, which keeps the brain alert. Consciously widen your vision. Look at the room around you using your peripheral sight without focusing on one specific object. This physically shifts your nervous system out of high alert.

While these micro-actions are perfect for a quick reset, they only work long-term if your system has a stable baseline of safety. My 3 Wellness Ways are foundational in making it happen, training your body and mind to make deep calm your everyday setting:

🌿Traditional Lomilomi: the somatic bodywork release
🌿Hoʻoponopono: clears the mental/emotional terrain
🌿Mentoring: the daily anchor

Deep rest that you can build on every day is not a luxury expense—it is a physiological AND psychological necessity ... Aloha, Julia ❤️xu

A L O. H A. W Ā H I N E! Want a secret Practitioner Insider Tip - course you do…

🌿Magic Calendula Balm. I had a cut on my finger. As a Bodywork Practitioner, my hands are my livelihood. We can’t afford cuts or abrasions, so strict hand care is essential.

The amazing Herby Jo at Herbadashery first introduced me to this quick-fix remedy. It is an absolute go-to for Bodyworkers.

🌿Now, I usually keep Calendula Balm in my Studio first aid kit, but I was completely out. That’s when the wonderful Trish Clough, brilliant local Iluka Herbalist, stepped in.

She kindly gifted me a sample pot from her personal stash. By the time my next client rocked in, it was already working its magic.

Day 1: The cut completely closed over.
Day 4: The skin is fully healed.

🌿Hawaiian Healing Practitioners have always worked alongside other specialised Practitioners. Collaborating is how we have maintained healthy communities for generations.

Polynesian survival depended on this shared wisdom, and it still does today. Support your local Healers and Practitioners! … Aloha, Julia ♥️x

A L O H A W Ā H I N E! Ever feel like your brain has 47 tabs open at the same time?

Daily searches for "how to calm my mind" are hitting historic highs - up 400%! When you are feeling completely overwhelmed, you can reset your calm fast with these three simple habits:

🌿1. Try the "5-Second Exhale: When it hits, your breathing turns shallow. This signals "danger" to your brain. Reverse it instantly by breathing in through your nose for 4 seconds, and exhaling slowly through pursed lips for 8 seconds. A long exhale triggers your parasympathetic nervous system to lower your heart rate almost instantly.

🌿2. Drop the Phone, Step Outside: Data shows that spending just 10 minutes outside in nature lowers blood pressure and noticeably resets focus. If you're stuck at a desk, splash cold water on your face. Cold water stimulates the vagus nerve, forcing an immediate physical shift out of "fight or flight" mode.

🌿3. Brain-Dump Your To-Do List: A cluttered space equals a cluttered mind. Stop trying to process everything all at once. Grab a physical piece of paper (nope, not your phone) and write down your top three priorities for the day. Writing things down unloads the mental weight from your brain so it can finally relax.

🌿 The ultimate, effortless calm reset? If you have had a stressful week or demanding period in your life, a Lomilomi session is the easiest way to clear your mind and body.

Absolutely nothing to do except receive the exact healing your body and mind already know they need.

🌿Special Offer (Ends 31 July!) To help you completely melt away tension, add a complimentary Hot Stones mini-treatment until Friday, 31 July. .

Limited spots left before this winter bonus closes.👇 How to book: Click the link in Bio, message me or call direct ... Aloha, Julia 🌺x

A L O H A W Ā H I N E !! Kānaka Maoli (Indigenous Hawaiians) gathered smooth volcanic lava stones (pōhaku), heated them, wrapped them in medicinal leaves, and applied them to the body to ease physical aches. We still do this today.

Lomilomi massage has long been part of everyday care within families and communities, tied to wellbeing across different life stages.

🌿Rather than using stationary stones, traditionally the stones are integrated directly into the long, continuous, rhythmic strokes of Lomilomi, allowing the thermal energy of the rocks to naturally melt tissue restriction without needing force.

Together, stones and strokes bring the body and mind to stillness allowing the body to soften, open, receive and heal.

🌿Traditionally, heated stones were wrapped in Tī or Laʻi leaves—which we know locally in Australia as Cordyline. The leaves are used to actively soothe physical pain, draw out deep inflammation, and clear stagnant energy. Combined with heated stones, this continuous gliding warmth flushes out deep tissue tension and coaxes the nervous system into absolute stillness.

🌿 An ancient way to restore and warm and until 31 July complementary hot stones with every treatment:

• 2-Hour Lomilomi (The full, immersive journey)
• 1.25-Hour Lomilomi (Deep realignment)
• Hot Shots Lomilomi (Short, highly targeted session)

Don’t miss the chance to let your body soften, open, and receive - 1 spot left this Sunday... Aloha, Julia 🌺x

A L O H A W Ā H I N E ! Are you tired of being the strong one?

Lately, internet research says women aren't searching for "how to fix my mindset."

They're privately typing in:

🌿How do I say no without feeling guilty?
🌿How do I stop over-explaining my choices?
🌿How do I stop feeling guilty for needing a break?
🌿How do I stop putting myself last?

If you read those and feel that familiar reaction — the little catch inside, that feeling of *".. that's me"* — pay attention, because that response is your mind and body telling you something.

There is something here that needs your attention.

Maybe you've become so used to being the strong one that you don't even notice how much energy it takes.

🌿Change doesn't begin by forcing yourself to think differently.

🌿It begins by creating the space to understand what is really going on — what patterns keep repeating, and what you know, deep down, needs to change.

🌿Otherwise it becomes a "coping mechanism", which isn't good for your long-term health.

Look around you, you'll see dozens of examples of it in the people you know...

This is where I come in.

🌿 Traditional Hawaiian Lomilomi is so much more than the bodywork on the table.

Yes, the Lomilomi helps release the physical tension held in the body.

But before you get on the table, we talk. Slow down. And look at what's really happening for you.

Because the body is often telling you your story...

🌿The conversation, reflection and bodywork together create the foundation for change.

It can be your starting point for long-lasting life change so you don't have to Google and search endlessly for answers. It can start right here with me.

This weekend I have Lomilomi sessions available:

🌿Friday: 2 sessions morning and afternoon
🌿 Saturday: 2 sessions morning and afternoon
🌿 Sunday: morning session

If something in this post has caught your attention, don't ignore it. It might be the signal that it's time to create some space for yourself.

Book online, send me a DM, or call me if you'd like to talk first... Aloha, Julia x🌺 ...

A L O H A W Ā H I N E! NEW POST - Nervous System Regulation... possible?

You're Googling for relief and every second post is talking about "Nervous System Regulation" or how to "reset" it. But what does that really mean... and is it even possible?

Let's go beyond the buzzwords.

You wake up tired. Your shoulders are tight. You're running on coffee. You can't switch your mind off. There's always something to do. You're getting through the day instead of enjoying it...

🌿Your nervous system has two main jobs. One is to help you deal with stressful situations. The other is to bring your body back to normal once the stressful event has passed.

The problem is when it feels like life keeps throwing one thing after another at you. Your stress response never really switches off. You keep functioning, but you feel more frazzled, more sensitive, and less able to cope with everyday ups and downs of life.

🌿Picture this... You sleep well and wake up feeling refreshed. The morning doesn't feel like a chore. You get yourself ready, the kids organised, head off to work, and even though you're busy, the day feels different. Calmer. More settled. Things arenʻt getting under your skin the way they were.

When you get home, you still have something left in the tank. You feel like taking the dog for a walk, going for a run, heading to Yoga or Pilates, or simply enjoying your evening because you want to—not because you know you should.

🌿Life hasn't changed. You have.

This is why our Kūpuna (Elders) placed so much importance on looking after yourself before your body started showing signs of distress. It's what we do as Traditional Hawaiian Lomilomi Practitioners.

🌿In our 51 generations, Traditional Hawaiian Lomilomi has been one of the ways we've helped people interrupt the build-up of stress before it takes over. It's natural, logical, restorative, and preventative.

🌿So, is a "nervous system reset" really possible? Itʻs not about getting fancy. It's more about stepping back and re-evaluating what will make your life more manageable over the long term.

And it starts by creating the space. Book your Lomilomi session. We'll take it from there... Aloha, Julia 🌺x

07/07/2026

A L O H A W Ā H I N E! FAQ: Overthinking, why do I do it?

We all do it from time to time. It's normal. Your mind is doing what it was designed to do—trying to work stuff out, protect you from making a mistake, or prevent you from being hurt again.

The problem is when it never reaches a satisfying answer.

🌿Then your mind keeps going back to the same place. The more it goes there, the stronger that negative neural pathway becomes.

Before long, you can find yourself thinking about things that haven't happened yet, replaying conversations you've already had, or worrying about things you can't control.

It's exhausting—mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

🌿Our Kūpuna (Elders) taught that when the mind won't let something go, it is because of our pōhaku—the stones we carry.

🌿They may come from experiences years ago. They sit quietly until something in the present triggers them.

🌿Suddenly, you're no longer responding just to today's situation. You're responding from that stone—an old hurt, disappointment, or memory.

🌿From there, it's a slippery slope. Your stress response stays switched on - breathing becomes shallow, body tightens, sleep becomes difficult. Before long, you're stuck in the loop.

And that's where Traditional Lomilomi shows its difference from regular bodywork...
.. Before you get on the table, we spend time talking about what's been happening for you. It's part of the healing process of Lomilomi.

🌿Traditional training isn't just about recognising what's happening in the body; it's about recognising what's happening to YOU that contributes to it.

By the time you get to the table, you're already unwinding. Then the Lomilomi goes to work with the body, encouraging it to:

• let go of tension
• restore movement through the tissues
• support the natural clearing of the waste products that build up with prolonged stress.

🌿Outcome: You feel cleaner, clearer, calmer, connected to yourself and have better sleep.

It's a gamechanger.

You don't need to overthink whether Lomilomi could help. If you are.. that's your sign.

Let me help you break the circuit ... Aloha, Julia 🌺x
