Northaven Ltd is proud to acknowledge the late Peter Kearsey, who has been posthumously awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his outstanding service to the Inverell community.

Peter's association with Northaven began in 1993, and over the following three decades he dedicated countless hours to supporting our organisation and the people we serve. Throughout his time with Northaven, Peter held a number of positions on the Board of Directors and served as Chairperson until stepping down in 2024.

Peter was a passionate advocate for people with disability and played a significant role in shaping Northaven into the organisation it is today. His leadership, commitment, and unwavering belief in creating opportunities for others have left a lasting impact on our organisation and the wider community.

This recognition is a fitting tribute to a man whose life was dedicated to service, inclusion, and making a difference in the lives of others.

Congratulations, Peter, on this well-deserved honour. Your legacy continues to inspire us every day.

Peter was presented his Life Membership of Northaven Ltd at the opening of The Haven Cafe in 2025.

We are hiring - Permanent/Fulltime or Permanent/Parttime Coordinator of Support (COS)
Northaven Ltd – Inverell’s longest-standing disability service provider
Northaven Ltd is seeking applications for a Permanent/Fulltime or Permanent/Parttime Coordinator of Support (COS) to join our dedicated and community-focused team. As Inverell’s oldest local disability service provider—established in 1969 by passionate community members—we continue to honour our history by delivering person-centred, empowering, and high-quality services for people living with disability.
The Coordinator of Support plays a vital leadership role in ensuring participants receive tailored, effective, and meaningful support. This position is responsible for coordinating services, developing support plans, fostering strong connections with participants and their families, and working collaboratively with internal staff and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will help guide participants through the NDIS landscape, ensuring their goals, preferences, and wellbeing remain at the centre of all planning.
We are seeking someone who is organised, compassionate, and confident in communication, with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to high standards of service delivery. Experience in disability support, case coordination, the NDIS framework, or community services is highly regarded. Flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to build trusting relationships are essential. Relevant qualifications and current clearances (NDIS Worker Screening, Working With Children Check, First Aid/CPR, and driver’s licence) will be required.
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a meaningful role where you can contribute directly to strengthening participant outcomes and continuing Northaven’s long-standing tradition of community-driven care. We invite interested applicants to submit their expression of interest, including a cover letter and resume, outlining their experience, motivation for the role, and availability.

For a full position description, please contact Northaven Ltd or forward your application to General Manager, Melissa Perrin, [email protected].
We look forward to hearing from you and exploring how you can be part of our dedicated and respected team.
