🎒 NEW GROUP ALERT – PREP READY CLUB 🎒

Starting school is about more than knowing letters and numbers.

To feel confident walking into Prep, children also need skills in:
⭐ Listening and following instructions
⭐ Building friendships
⭐ Confidence participating in groups
⭐ Managing emotions and big feelings
⭐ Focus and attention
⭐ Independence with everyday classroom routines
⭐ Early literacy foundations

Our brand new Prep Ready Club has been designed specifically for children entering Prep in 2027 and will help build the skills needed for a successful transition to school in a fun and supportive small group environment.

📚 10 week program

This month at Ipswich Libraries Storytime sessions with Hello Friend Speech, not only are we exploring the ocean, we are sharing ways to support language development at home by exploring nouns.

Why are nouns important?
✅ Nouns are often a child's first words
✅ A big noun vocabulary is linked to stronger future language skills
✅ Nouns form the building blocks of sentences
✅ Knowing more nouns helps children understand and talk about the world around them

How can you help expand your child's noun knowledge?
💡 Name everything you see throughout the day
💡 Be specific – instead of "bird", try "cockatoo" or "magpie"
💡 Point out and label different parts (e.g. car - wheels, doors)
💡 Follow your child's interests

This is a structured, table-based group targeting later developing speech sounds. Ideal for children who are difficult to understand or need focused support to produce specific sounds accurately.

📚 Language Club 📚 Focus: Language skills for learning
Targets vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, listening skills and following directions. Perfect for children who need support expressing ideas clearly, understanding instructions or building stronger language skills for school.

🧱 Lego Club 🧱 Focus: Social communication
Uses structured Lego roles to build teamwork, turn-taking, problem-solving and flexible thinking. Best suited for children who need support with peer interaction and collaborative communication.

✨ Language Play or Sound Play - Which Group is Right?✨

🗣 Language Play focuses on building your child’s understanding and use of words. We explore vocabulary themes through books, songs and guided play to support early language skills like learning new words, putting words together and expressing ideas.

🔤 Sound Play focuses on speech sound development. Each week we target specific sounds through fun themed activities, helping children hear, practise and become more confident using speech sounds in everyday words.

Both groups:
✔ Are designed for children aged 18 months–4 years
✔ Use evidence-informed, play-based learning
