Sometimes I feel as though being such a loving, kind and empathetic person can be so draining. Because sometimes, in caring so deeply about everyone else, I forget about myself.
I've often wished I didn't care so much. I thought maybe it would make it easier to let go of people I cared about when they'd hurt me.
I've said so many times, *“I wish I wasn't such an empath.”*
But maybe my empathy was never the problem.
Maybe the problem was allowing my empathy for someone else's experience to make me forget my own.
**Change the perspective.**
Because my empathy for others, the way I love and care for people, and the kindness I give — especially to those in my inner circle — are part of what makes me who I am.
They're also part of the reason I have so many beautiful people who genuinely love and care for me.
And I'd much rather be someone who loves deeply and has a table full of people who love me back than become someone who can let go more easily just because, when I moved tables, some people didn't follow.
Love and light
